Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Reported cause
The issue is the window not dropping, not the window sticking to the seals.
Leading evidence: 'window not dropping, not the window sticking' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'window not dropping, not the window sticking' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Lubricate seal' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I have changed many window regulators for people after they have tried to wind the window down with it frozen.

Lubricating the seal with something described will prevent the glass sticking to the seal.

You can use water or run a card along there to free it.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

What do you guys do in freezing conditions regarding opening your door and the window drop being inop due to being frozen solid. Obviously pouring like warm water over it is an option but hardly ideal. God knows what people in Norway/Sweden/Bavaria do?????
Seems a really bad design to me. It must be really bad for the motor and cables when it's frozen. Thoughts??
Mine is garaged so not an issue. I've read that treating the seals with a good quality rubber treatment helps. I have some Wurth stuff called rubber fit. It just helps keep the rubber nice and a bit slippery.
Google gummi pflege.
The issue is the window not dropping, not the window sticking to the seals. It doesn't drop up or down when the door is open (I'm guessing) so the seals aren't playing a part in it not operating.
I just gently pull the door open and the window pops out from the frame. Then when shutting the door, push the top of the window in first to tuck under the frame, then apply pressure to the door to shut the mechanism. Obviously you can't do that if you're in the car, but you can operate the window down switch and apply some pressure on top of the glass to set it in motion.
The mini drop is inoperative because the glass is stuck to the seal (or where glass disappears into the door). Lubricating the seal with something described will prevent the glass sticking to the seal. Frost on the lower edge of the window can be dealt with by scraping or de-icing (whatever method you're comfortable with).
Mine's not sticking to that but the window doesn't drop. I'm guessing the regulator freezes up or it's the door/window seal along the bottom that's sticky.
Same here, it's the window drop but I think probably glass frozen to everything. I would be very careful operating your electric window in sub zero conditions. I have changed many window regulators for people after they have tried to wind the window down with it frozen. Audi's are bad for it.
Mine always freezes along the lower edge. Once the door is fully open it won't drop. You can use water or run a card along there to free it. Sometimes a hard thump frees it, I'd it's not stuck too fast.
