Anyone try this? I am going to put a double din nav radio in my 2001 C4, but want to try and retrofit the cupholders from a 2002 in the upper tray under the vents. Anyone try this before?

I had cupholders put in. Part as bought on pelican I believe. Relocated the climate control to the bottom, tray above, then radio and then cup holder. Had my mechanic do it while doing the IMSB.

Not quite the solution you are looking for, but it is a good one.... Have you tried ultimatecupholders.com? I have 2 in my 996TT.

+1 for Ultimate Cupholders. I had replaced the factory cupholders in mine and was using it for my Starbucks. But it's positioned right above all the electronics (new Pioneer double din HU) and just a little coffee spilled out when I hit a bump. Took out the head unit! Not covered by warranty because it's a "water" damage, like phones I suppose. But I have a great shop and they finagled a warranty replacement and I paid just the labor. Ultimate cupholders fit perfectly and place the cups near the floor. Worst case is a spill on the floor but that hasn't happened yet even with spirited driving. I also have 2. Just a heads up.
