Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Just to clarify, although the previous owner told me the clutch had been changed 20k ago I have no paperwork to back this up.

if original and if so you will need to adjust the tail pipes so cut and replace the clamps .

Looks like I need to change the clutch on my turbo, when leaning on it hard after about 4K the revs just shoot up.

Clutches are subjective to how a car is driven and as such there is no set mileage ..
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Looks like I need to change the clutch on my turbo, when leaning on it hard after about 4K the revs just shoot up.
Previous owner said the clutch was done 20k ago, potentially another thing he lied about.
Anyway gives me something to do over winter.
While the engine and box are out I'm going to pin the coolant lines and fix a wee oil leak at one of the chain tensioner bolts.
Is there anything else that's worth doing while the engine is out?
Any suggestions on clutch, I'm probably leaning at an oem one as I'm not planning any more power other than a remap, so 500bhp ish with torque being about the same.
If the clutch has gone in only 20K then you might have an oil leak .. rms that has contaminated the clutch .
OEM clutch is all i would recommend .
usual things with an engine drop .. coolant pipes , a/c pipes and rear brake pipes .. inspect all and replace if any concerns .
Engine mounts .. if original and if so you will need to adjust the tail pipes so cut and replace the clamps .
Spark plugs are again easier with engine out so if getting close then chuck a set in .
Hi demort thanks for the pointers.
Just to clarify, although the previous owner told me the clutch had been changed 20k ago I have no paperwork to back this up. He's also been a bit suspect about a few other points that I've since fixed so I'm leaning towards this being the original clutch if it's feasible it could have lasted 90k?
All your other points have been added to the list, thank you for that.
Clutches are subjective to how a car is driven and as such there is no set mileage ..
My feelings are around the 50-60K mark for a replacement but that's just my thoughts .
Customers have told me over 100K before .. i've also been told 20K before .. Generic porsche and not a single model .
For me and at 20K then the flywheel would be blue from heat , probable cracking as well as there would need to be some serious strain on it to fail at such a low milage .
You will see when you remove it .. post an image or two and people can make their own minds up here .
Just drop the engine and inspect everything is all i can advise .. coolant pipes on these as you are well aware need attention .. we have had 2 in for leaks in the last 3 months .
