I've replaced the original head unit with a Panasonic SPH-bt10 connected to the original amp and as mentioned I've changed the dash speakers....now I saw someone say give up on the rear speakers (disconnect them) and then concentrate on the door speakers.

So what speakers would you recommend for the door replacements?

Hi I've been reading and following the other various Speaker threads but I haven't seen any recommendations for changing the door speakers.

Suggestion
Using a 4 ohm speaker is fine, in fact it's easier to drive than a 2ohm speaker so the amp won't get as hot

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi I've been reading and following the other various Speaker threads but I haven't seen any recommendations for changing the door speakers.
My 02 C2 had what I believe was known as the 'HiFi package' it has dash speakers (now upgraded to the Alpines everyone recommends) door speakers and rear speakers together with a 6 channel amp in the frunk.
Or if you think that's not the way to go what would give me a bit more bass frequency handling and allow some more volume?
Thanks as always for any advice.
Interested to see what suggestions you get, I've got the HiFi package too. Just bought some Pioneer TSG1010F for £15 for the pair which I'm about to fit.
When I've had my door cards off recently, I noticed the wiring connectors for speakers were already there.
Has anyone added factory sized speakers to non speaker door cards? Sorry to hijack the thread.
I think I posted something and there was subsequent discussion on the door speakers.
The end result was unless you're prepared to modify the door pods/cards to move up to a larger speaker size, rip out the amplifier and replace with a new one and some crossovers it's a pretty pointless exercise. The factory door woofers performed much better than 2 different speakers I tried (Alpine and Infinity Kappa) with the factory amplifier.
Thanks that's really helpful...I'm going to leave the doors alone then and do the rears instead as I'm definitely getting distortion from them.
Does it really matter going from 2 Ohm to 4 Ohm in this sort of system? Just can't seem to find any 10cm 2 ohm speakers so hence the change to 4 Ohms
Having upgraded my dash and rear speakers last weekend I'd say that the current door speakerS are good enough but I couldn't get them driving enough bass.
I think a small active sub under a seat will fill in the soundscape a bit more and allow the bass to be wound down a touch.
Having said that, I think when your rolling along the car is noisy enough to lose a lot of frequencies in, so this isn't the car to be chasing hifi perfection in
I'm not looking for perfection just a bit better sound as being a London Porsche owner I actually get a lot of time when the engine / road noise is non existent due to all the traffic jams caused by the new LTN's.
