Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 2Original post

AWE Catback system and smog tests Hi Mike, I have asked the following question to a couple of vendors regarding their catback systems and I have not received any clear responses and I was hoping you could provide some guidance. When installing your AWE catback system, the secondary cats from the stock system are not replaced. Will having only the two primary cats on the exhaust headers allow the CS to pass the smog "sniffer" test? Everyone seems to state that the secondary cats are not needed. Not needed in what sense? What is your take on this situation? Thanks in advance.

POST 3Original post

Hey Tracy we'll be seeing you soon anyways but to answer your question the secondary cats are not needed in order to pass the emissions part of the test. However, if the Smog guy knows what he's doing (unlikely) he can fail you for the visual inspection. These cars burn so clean whether it be a 997S, CaymanS or CTT that you'll be just fine. To give you an idea we've _had_ to smog a couple of GT700 996TT's and they passed with flying colors.
