Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

All of the suspension and brakes have been changed since I last drove it, but I will be able to compare it to the standard setup in my C2.
Leading evidence: 'Replace of the suspension and brakes' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace fluid last year seemed' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
Just replacing my fluid last year seemed to give the steering a lighter feel and also varying the level (as I originally overfilled it).

I'm contemplating doing it on my car as it's certainly in that category of car that is better because of the sum of incremental changes rather than any one mod by itself.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I know how much you lot like a plug for a YouTube video. Here is one I did on fitting electric power steering to my 996. It is in my project car thread but posting as a separate topic as it is a nice standalone job.

Good overview.
Were you able to compare the overall weights between the two systems? Obviously moving the mass to the front of the car is a benefit, but is there reduction in weight overall?
I doubt there is much in it weight wise. The electric pump is heavier, but doesn't have the long pipes and has less fluid. I can't comment on the feel yet as I haven't driven the car. All of the suspension and brakes have been changed since I last drove it, but I will be able to compare it to the standard setup in my C2.

In a car with many other mods I can see this being of benefit in reducing the rear weight bias, as well as any minor overal mass reduction benefits. It's another one of the mods that along with a host of others contributes to a great car but on its own probably isn't worth doing. I'm contemplating doing it on my car as it's certainly in that category of car that is better because of the sum of incremental changes rather than any one mod by itself.
Will be interesting to see how the steering feels. Just replacing my fluid last year seemed to give the steering a lighter feel and also varying the level (as I originally overfilled it).
I also wonder if its worth doing should the crimp fail on the high pressure line rather than spending serious money on a new hard line from Porsche and all the heartache/cost (take your pick!) involved in installation.
Only disadvantage is the reduction in frunk space. If this could be hidden away under the scuttle or behind the spare wheel that would be ideal.
Mine is a C2, and if my high pressure line does fail then I'll certainly go down this route. I'll probably explore putting it up on the scuttle but I don't expect it to fit. I'll probably wind up putting it in the back right hand(nearside) corner of the frunk.
