The passenger side window gets used a lot less, so doesn't suffer the same wear as the driver's side.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, where abouts is the door microswitch located. I think it might of moved slightly as my passenger door has to be shut with quite abit of force for the window to rise and i would like to adjust it.

POST 2Original post

There are 7 microswitches in each door. Take a look at the Technical Articles section for a description of each. It sounds like it might be the door open/closed switch in the door lock itself.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok is that a door insulation off job then? Ill have a look at the articles tomorrow when ive got time cheers fir the quick response.

POST 4Original post

Yes, you have to remove the door trim and peel back the corner of the membrane to get the door lock out.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

ok while im in there im half tempted to change the regulator to but ill check its condition first.

POST 6Original post

Unless the cables are obviously frayed, I wouldn't worry. The passenger side window gets used a lot less, so doesn't suffer the same wear as the driver's side.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yea thats true. As my girlfriend isnt in my car much it hardly gets used. I did notice on the drivers side that the wire that had snapped was bare. I thought it would have had some insulation on, possibly like what is on the wires in a push bike.
