I was pulling onto a freeway on ramp and hit the gas, close to the top of first I got a PSM and an ABS failure warning lights. So, I get off the freeway and park the car to see if it just hit a slippery bit that threw it off and needed to be rebooted.
When I restart the car the PSM and ABS lights have reset but in there place is a check engine light instead
Bollox!
I guess its off to the dealership on new years eve to see what can be seen.

P.S I have tracked the car without any problems and only drive the car at the weekends. Its been hundreds of miles since the car was last on a track and it had its first service less than a year ago at 12,000 miles and is due for its next yearly before February sometime. This is the second time I've had a CEL, the first for a faulty cat that had to be replaced. The PSM failed once before but as I was going sideways around a turn at the track and seeing as when turned off and restarted it reset itself I didn't hold it against it. The car is completely stock apart from a camber change.
Couldn't be related to the PCM you got off e-Bay could it? Might want to check some connections.
I only know a failed/out of adjustment brake pedal switch will cause this, but of course it could be a number of things.
The PCM's been on the car for about 6-7 thousand miles with nary a hiccup so I doubt that its an issue at this stage.

For "fun" you might want to pick up an inexpensive code reader and see what it says. You could also use it to clear the CEL.
I off till Wednesday, so on Monday morning I'll head down to my P-Dealer and get them to take a look. Better safe than sorry.

Could be nothing. I have had a system failure that gave me a PSM, PASM, you name it failure. Dealer reset the software and chalked it up to gremlins. The impression I get is that if the car is operating properly and the fluids are in good shape, a CEL is usually not some tragedy. Here's hoping!
Passengers side rear wheel sensor got an error for some reason, they reset it and said if it reappears then to come back and they'll investigate further. Suits me.
Nice.

same thing happened to me right after my smog check at 190 miles. CEL eventually went away the next day. My Saab had the same prob after smog check.
Damn smog checks!!!!!! Really hate going through it!!!!!
