Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

For a non fitted heated seat car you would need the switches and as replacing the harness is just not cost effective you will need to run the wires individually .

I was retrofitting heating elememts and loom to standard seats, to replace the heated seats in my car, so the car wiring was already there.

This was waeco kit and to be fair was pretty good, the elements are carbon as opposed to the copper elements on genuine ones, newer cars use carbon elements due to longevity.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi All
I'm looking at retrofitting heated seats to my 2002 Carrera 4 Cab.. I know I need to buy a new batwing for the dashboard plus the switches.. also the relays and brackets that fit under the seat with the attentional wiring harness.. my question is do I just require the heat blanket (pictured) or is the seat foam base different and the part pictured is only for the seat back ?? Also am I missing other parts needed for the job..
Thanks
Johnny
I wouldn't do it again, I had doing upholstery. I would buy decent seats with heating elements and the looms already fitted. Almost certainly cheaper as well. It was an experience....

I was retrofitting heating elememts and loom to standard seats, to replace the heated seats in my car, so the car wiring was already there. No idea whatbis needed to retrofit the loom to he car. I wouldn't bother, don't like them that much.

In a cold garage in the middle of winter .. i kinda like road testing cars with heated seats lol .
For a non fitted heated seat car you would need the switches and as replacing the harness is just not cost effective you will need to run the wires individually .
Op,s image is of the backrest heater , you will also need the base one .
I did this on my old boxster, i ended going for an aftermarket as the genuine kits have loads of cables for the 3 ways switches and the control units are mega money new!
I started by taking the live from the seat motors as it is unlikely to move the tilt and activate the heating elements, this is a terminal 30(perm +) and i left it on and flattened the battery and killed it. I then took up the carpets and ran it to the fuse box 6 i think and back pinned it in so it was in the same location as factory and this was terminal 15(ign +) so turned off with the key if left on!
This was waeco kit and to be fair was pretty good, the elements are carbon as opposed to the copper elements on genuine ones, newer cars use carbon elements due to longevity. it heated up nicely as good as anything ive had with genuine heaters. you can trim and cut the elements as long as you dont cut the side wiring.
the switches are a bit simpler as they are a rocker switch to select full - off - half. i mounted mine on the side panel of the seat.
If you can get everything at a reasonable price then thats the first hurdle done, the wiring in isn't easy as the switches are multi push and thats not as simple as rockers.
