Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, I need to buy some new seat belts with pre-tensioners in them. I have been given the code: 996 803 034 06 I found a few options on eBay for used seatbelts with tensioners still in place. Porsche wants 247 per belt Will this help with resetting the airbag light? Cheers, Ganan

POST 2Original post

It depends on what the fault code is that has triggered the airbag light .. The belt can sometimes fail but it's rare .. a non deployed one just means it's not been in an accident .. if it has been triggered then it has to be replaced .

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks, unfortunately my front airbag went off. So i suspect it's a part of that.

POST 4Original post

In the event of an accident then i would suspect if the drivers airbag deployed then the pretensioner on the seat belts would also have deployed .. as such these would need replacing . Without a fault code saying this then it's a mear guess though so a fault code read out would confirm which items you actually need to replace . A fault code read out is about 10 mins at an Indy if you don't have a tester to read them yourself .. pretty cheap to confirm the actual issue . As it stands it sounds like you are going to just buy x2 new seat belts and fit them .. you will still need a tester to turn off the airbag light so i would urge a check first .
