Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

So ever since I picked up the car a month ago, I have heard a whine from the front right brake. This only happens when you are slowing down slowly. If I fly up to the light and break aggressively there is no whine. So I called my dealer today and asked about this. I told him I wasn't going to say anything as the car still has under 2000 miles. But it has not gone away at all, same soft breaking makes it whine. His response to me was... Yeah Porsche knows that some of the breaks will do that. They tell us to let the customer know to break heavier and you wont hear it. I laughed and said, yeah I had already figured that out, thanks... So I guess I will break a little more aggressively so I don't sound like I am driving something other than a Porsche... Not what I was really wanting to hear from the service tech. Break harder so you go through your break pads faster, works for us!

POST 2Original post

If this has been going on for a full month this may not make sense, but have you checked the rotor? I had some plastic-like junk melted on to a rotor in the past that caused some funny noises. Cleaned it off with some solvent and all was well...

POST 3Original post

Have you tried re-bedding? Various methods exist but general idea is 5-6 consecutive firm braking applications from 70mph down to 30mph. With brakes so new, it's possible that they just never had a chance to settle-in properly.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
