Perhaps its just me, but in the four weeks I have owned the car, I have twice now managed to press the 'Emergency Call' button :helpme:in the dark, its located just above the door unlock button ( like many my CS doors are set to lock as soon as you drive off)
Thankfully the system does a double check and asks before dialing, but its not the best place to put a button you have to press every time you drive.
Other than that, I really cant think of anything I was unaware of before buying that I am unhappy with, sure the Sat Nav / Phone / Computer / Radio / Cd interface is, well less than intuitive, but it has to do a heck of a lot things to control but perhaps a simple (touch sensitive) master index screen would help.
Cheers
Kez
Kez, Why do you press the unlock button??
First small pull on the handle unlocks, second pull opens the door or get the mods4cars.com gismo That unlocks the doors as soon as you turn the key to off.....don't think I've ever used the unlock button in the center of the dash....
The Gismo also does lots of other thing like: Drops the passenger mirror for reversing, puts a delay on your front and rear trunk opening from the fob, closes windows etc etc
I'm with Tess on this one. I have never used the lock button. My car is set to automatically lock when you drive off and I pull the handle twice to exit. Literally I have never used that button. What are you doing that requires you to use it? I think using the auto lock feature and unlocking the door from the handle will solve your SOS problem.
Thanks guys and good point, on a different but not altogether unrelated issue, have you carried any passengers who have tried pulling the inside door catch HARD in the assumption they had not pulled hard enough.
Has happened twice now (once with son (aged 8) and once with mother in law (classified!) in both instances I managed to prevent them from snapping off what seems quite a lightweight bit of plastic for a door handle. But thats how I started using the switch, which I assume is there for some reason, just why 'there'.
Regards
Kez
I agree. I use the button to prevent pasangers from pulling on the door handles if they don't know the the way the lock works.
Yea, spose when I think about it, if I'm carrying someone not used to the car, I help them (make sure they don't rip the handle off the door) by unlocking using the unlock feature, but if locked it's illuminated with the red led, so Kez unless you've got hands, or fingers, as big as a ............whale !!
in which case can I immediately apologise for even questioning you thought pattern !!!
I can’t see how you can hit the wrong button, yes they are close, but just push the led !!
The other answer is of course educate your son, and don't carry your mother-in-law
My shop has a lot of very sophisticated tools that you have to learn in order to operate and I take some pride in understanding how to operate them. The debate about using a simple key without some thinking about it leaves me cold. If some Porsche owners treated my shop machines like their keys they would have lots fewer fingers.
I think my original point was about ergonomics not application, unless I missed my own point..........
