Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Since I bought the car I allways complain about the horn sound, yesterday I have the chance to compare it with another cayman and I realizae that mine never works propertly. I call my dealer and hopefully I would have it fix by the end of the week!

POST 2Original post

It is a common problem...one of the two horns fails. Repair requires removal of front bumper cover, so it will take several hours to do the horn exchange.

POST 3Original post

Yup, common problem. I'll share a secret solution with you, but don't tell anyone. Call your service department and tell the service advisor that your horn isn't working properly. Tell them, "Code Name Gator Bite" pause and then say, "Can you fix it?" If you get the timing right, they will not only fix it but they won't even charge you anything for the repair. Pretty cool, huh?

POST 4Original post

Same thing happened to me. Took it in for the 2 year check-up and to replace a bad tensioner pulley bearing. I never complained about the pathetic horn, which I just assumed was a "Porsche Feature". When I got the car back I looked through the repair sheets and saw that they had replaced the low-tone horn due to water infiltration damage. Now when I honk at the geese in the parking lot they get out of the way instead of looking amorously at the CS.
