Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'good candidate' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'good candidate' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace diverter valves and i found this' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

ive got a 996 tt x50 dms remap apparently 550bhp i was under the impression with the extra bit of power i should have dvs changed for reliabilty.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi every one,
I'm thinking of getting a couple of uprated diverter valves, as I know the standard ones are rubbish. How easy are they to fit on the 996 Turbo?
I put a couple on an S4 Bi Turbo a few years a go, but that were very easy to get to and only took around 10 mins to fit. Not having had a good look under the Porker yet I wasn't sure how easy or difficult it is going to be.
Cheers
Jim

You generally only jet the chavvy loud noise when they vent to air rather than recirculate the waste air back into the intake.
The thing is, there is no performance to be gained whatsoever unless you are pushing so much boost (over factory) that your valve is leaking due to the extra pressure pushing the spring back. Most people change them because it's something easy to change that they can play with or they want the chavvy loud sound. Most people don't actually NEED to replace them.
Just something to consider.
thanx jeff for the info. ive got a 996 tt x50 dms remap apparently 550bhp i was under the impression with the extra bit of power i should have dvs changed for reliabilty. ps... i am a chav but i dont want the hissin niose i get too much attention already drivin a porsche on a council estate..

Again though, you may not actually need it, but I'm not quite sure on the boost level that can be managed by the factory valves. One of the reliable Indy's should be able to tell you that though.
