I have tried a number of online sites and retailers and keep getting the same message that the tyres are on backorder or are being replaced by SC3s.

I have come across one part used tyre with 6.8mm tread.

Part worn is an option if you can inspect the tyre before buying.

Suggestion
I wouldn't recommend the Conti CS2, don't know about the CS3 but they are more your GT tyre than a super grippy sporty one.

Now if you were to recommend increasing it fine, but reducing it is a big no, no!

Suggestion
Yes, you can get some perfectly good ones in various mm of tread, if he finds a similarly worn one then he'll be fine until stock comes in or he can replace all four tyres.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Some toerag has placed a stanley knife blade into one of my rear tyres and I'm struggling to replace it. I have tried a number of online sites and retailers and keep getting the same message that the tyres are on backorder or are being replaced by SC3s.
Does anyone know of a tyre supplier that has a pair of Continental SportContact 2 N2 in 295/30/18 fitment in stock?
Alternatively, can I just buy a pair of another make to fit on the rear axle?
Thanks in advance
285s aren't 'fine' on a 4S! :frustrated:
Not wise to mix brands (or even revisions) on a 4wd Porsche. If it's only one you are looking for try some of the part worn places and get a similarly worn one to the you've got.

I got a pair from Event Tyres recently. The guy I normally use couldn't get them, but Event had them in stock. They come to you, which is nice.

Do I need to answer that one? Are you actually serious? You're advocating reducing the amount of tread on the road? Now if you were to recommend increasing it fine, but reducing it is a big no, no!
We aren't talking about rolling radius here!
Yes it seems you do - are you saying you are
not
worried by the difference in rolling radius, but you
are
worried by the tyres width being reduced by 1cm?
And you advocate getting a part-worn tyre? :?:
But a 4S has 295 rears, so a reduction in the RR and less tread on the road

Thanks for the steer Damian. I've tried Event but they don't have any in stock either plus they don't deliver to Edinburgh.
The fronts are CS2s which is why I'm a bit concerned about mixing tyre brands front and rear.
I have come across one part used tyre with 6.8mm tread. The one on the other side of the axle is about 3mm I think. I think I may just buy this one as a stop-gap until stock comes in.
Rubbish timing as
insurance
renewal is due soon and I just dropped off my spare alloys for refurb before the puncture. D'oh!
Part worn is an option if you can inspect the tyre before buying.
If you're spares are the same size (never the case with me) get round there and strip the tyres to get you through. Treat new tyre time like a new car - research opinon and then commit.
Its summer so if you are brave stick semi slick all round and have a ball.
PS Pissing down in Glasgow so semi slick car in garage!
