Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Hi Guys Any of you get an odd sort of 'bleat' when you press the remote lock button on your key fob? Mine sort of sounds like a horn running on low battery. I cant imagine it is normal, but I have no reference. I may stop by dealer to listen to another. Any thoughts? Thanks, Ben

POST 2Original post

any chance your glove box door is open? let me add, the alarm normally does not make a noise unless part of the car is not secure. the "remotekey" aftermarket add-on enables that horn "bleat" every time you enable/disable the alarm.

POST 3Original post

That hapens to me when either the drivers door, passenger door, or front/rear trunk is open.

POST 4Original post

Correct. The car will wimpily beep if a door, hood, trunk, or glove box is not properly latched. If they are all closed and you still get the beep, a sensor probably has a problem and the dealer will fix.

POST 5Original post

The Cayman manual refers to this as a "gong." When I first read the maual and saw this, I was like no way!!! I was expecting to hear one of those gongs you hear right before a sumo wrestling match occurs. Boy was I suprised
