I already had a deposit on a GT3 with OPC and this came up the night before I was due to pick it up, this also had OPC warranty till Nov 2015 if I remember right ( original add saved on my phone) .

Suggestion
A good inspection and a proper valet wouldn't cost more than £1k, maybe plus tyres, 111 point check (or equivalent)...

Suggestion
I'd suggest that as they are identical engine and running gear wise to the standard GT3 with a wider arse and plastic rear window, big wing and a different flywheel, it makes the vanilla car a bit of a bargain at the moment.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am interested in buying the above car Reg No WJ07WKM and would be grateful to receive any information you may have about this car specifically, especially if you are a previous owner or have viewed the car recently. The URL for the advert is below.
http://www.gvelondon.com/pre-owned/porsche/911-997...
Thank you very much.
There was mention of it in a thread a few pages ago. Was for sale privately at high 50's c. 3-4 weeks ago and was snapped up v quick and then appeared the fllg week for sale again in the advert you have spotted. Not many for sale.
Nice car, Comfort seats though, so the price needs reducing by 50%.
It will be needing a £15k overhaul/refresh as it's an old car now.
Suggest you contact GT transmission in The States, they'll be able
to provide you with some gears far better suited to UK road use.
You'll most likely find the cheap and nasty engine rather lacking in torque too,
Manthey do various larger capacity conversions that should eradicate
that issue, failing that you may consider turbocharging.
All the above may leave you thinking this GT3 is overpriced, and you'd
be right. I 'd bid no more than £20k as that's where I see these incredibly flawed cars
currently in the marketplace.
But personally I think you're barking up the wrong tree. You'd be better off
getting yourself a Cayman R, everyone knows they're the best car in the world.
They're faster, better braked, better handling, more engaging and tactile to
drive than any GT3 (including the 991 version) they're also a hardcore car that
will see off a GTR on the bumpier, twisty roads outside my front door.
So there you have it, you thought a GT3 might be the car you wanted in your garage,
but what you actually need is a Cayman R.
Next.
Apologies to the OP, I realise the above is of absolutely no help to you whatsoever.
P.S The above are my unbiased views (so don't bother quoting me. At all, ever) but I'm never wrong, so if I say the CR IS
the best car I've ever owned, you can rest assured it will be the best car you've owned too ;-)

I agree with none of the above, you should by an AUDI TTRS
It appears to be a stunning, low mileage car. Despite the dealer's mark up, it is not a crazy price IMO. In the knowledge that the dealer paid at least £10k less and has been marketing the car for a good few weeks, make a low 60's offer perhaps. You won't regret it.

These prices are plain stupid
Don't mention crazy prices.
Just remember:
1. You don't have to buy
2. Traders have a right to make a living!

1. True, but it does look a nice car, although 5 owners would put me off...
2. £2k in a few weeks is making a living, £10k is taking the piss!
3. This market is crazy, it'll be low £50s later this year...
It's funny how the same people keep talking the Gt3 prices down, saying they are crazy prices etc are the ones who want to buy one...
Yellow 997 club sport sold at JZM for £67k this week within a day or two with 31k miles so this seems faily priced, meanwhile the three 997 RS cars for sale are between 88-100k.
I'd suggest that as they are identical engine and running gear wise to the standard GT3 with a wider arse and plastic rear window, big wing and a different flywheel, it makes the vanilla car a bit of a bargain at the moment.
Why are the prices crazy? All GT3's are highly desirable cars made in very limited numbers. What else is there similar? A cooking 360/F430? Costs treble the amount to run and are full of (Italian) electronics. Even a new M3/M4 is touching the £70k mark with a few options, and that will surely depreciate more given there is no production limit. Seems to me that the high price whingers are those that have missed the boat and instead of crying into their beer should go out and get themselves a Cayman R or Spyder, as these will most likely be next models to begin a price hike.
Agree 100% with the two posts above. The cooking GT3 prices may not head for the stratosphere like the earlier RS cars but they are not going to be £50k anytime soon. The new cars (including the GT3 IMHO) are nothing like the previous generations and, especially in the case of the GT3 cars, people have realised you won't get anything like them form Porsche again. I'm sure the 991 GT3 RS will be epic if you want to go a million miles an hour without even having to slow down for any of the corners but there's a big demand for the older stuff and limited supply, which only means one thing for prices.

Why on earth would you pay 67k for a car you new sold for a lot less a few weeks before?
This is not worth 67k
Because it's there and available and there aren't any others about? If you want one, you'll pay for it I suppose.

On the flip side it's funny how the same people keep talking the GT3 priced up, saying they are fairly priced etc are the ones who own or want to sell one...
You either believe we're in a bubble or not. GT3's may weather a downturn better than other overvalued models!
While I couldn't afford an RS I bought a 997.2 GT3 CS a month or so ago. I paid slightly more than I thought it is worth...
However, there are only 160 997.2 GT3s in the UK and I'm guessing circa 40-60? CSs. It is the last manual Metzger GT3...
There has only been one for sale (comfort) in the last month or so and now none.
I can't believe prices will crash, soften maybe but not crash.
Yep, if you want one pay the price or stop whinging.
My mate who I bought my Mk1 6GT3 from has just bought a white 997.1 GT3 CS, white cage, yellow belts and PCCBs. Bought unseen from 911V for £69k. Just seen pics today. Lovely thing.
Act fast or miss out.

That car was advertised privately on PH for £60k....Sold to 911V the same day.
Looked a great car.
Not as simple as that. 911V have been totally upfront about what they paid etc.
Car was undervalued and they got into a bit of a bidding war with another indy who wanted the car, so let's just say they paid more than the £60k and have done their prep. Probably £5k in it which is what any dealer would want out of a £60k+ car.

Where do you pluck £5k from? A good inspection and a proper valet wouldn't cost more than £1k, maybe plus tyres, 111 point check (or equivalent)... £2k max! Unless you know different?
Don't know what you're getting at? Are you talking about a private buyer or a dealers prep?
But yes I do know different. As I've said it didn't sell for £60k it sold for more, hence there wasn't the £10k in it that was mentioned earlier.

I presume he meant £5k profit for the dealer, and you are thinking £5k worth of prep?
Also had extras with led lights front and rear with the originals to go with the car and a GT3 RS rear spoiler with original going with the car. Must be a good few hundred pound worth of extras to be sold as well as I assume it was put back to stock and the extras never went with the car.

Put me in a dilemma whether go go and have a look at it or not as it was cheaper and better spec than what I was buying.
By the time I had finished work 1 hour latter it had been taken off PHs, decision made for me!

You are correct, I thought Mark meant they had £5k prep in it which I found hard to believe...
Apologies, I got the wrong end of the stick!
