Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Can anybody help me out with identifying this hose?? Oil filler tube hit it while removing the air filter today and base of the hose broke. Had fluid leaking out of it and down the back of the engine, but can't figure out what fluid is. Car going to the shop this week to fix air oil separator and I get to add this to the list. Thanks in advance

POST 2Original post

That's a coolant hose. Mine broke at the connector at the bottom of where you circled. I replaced it with a brass barb coupler.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Very helpful, thank you very much Ryan. That is where mine broke as well - the plastic nipple that goes into the hose was very brittle and just crumbling away. Guess these cars are 15-20 years old so I shouldn't be surprised that these kinds of parts are disintegrating.

POST 4Original post

You are welcome. I got the barb (1/4 inch I think) from O'Reillys. I just used regular worm gear clamps to put it back together. I was really freaked out that I wouldn't get it all back together good enough, but that was over 2 months ago and everything is still good.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Our of curiosity, do you know the part number for that hose? I'm trying to find it in coolant hose diagrams and can't identify it.

Had one of the main coolant tank outlets do the same thing to me, it created a Yellowstone-style steam geyser. A $13 t-joint cured the leak. The disintegration of that t-joint was a little scary, gotta admit.

POST 7Original post

It comes from the water pump and goes to the AOS. See here http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-p...section=104-10
