Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I took it to the OPC which said that was strange, most likely the discs.
Leading evidence: 'discs' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'discs' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace any discs or pads' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I thought the noise was due to the warped discs ( which also made HUMONGUS vibration under braking ) and were changed.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi there folks,
My car had warped discs AND some squeaking noise.
I thought the noise was due to the warped discs ( which also made HUMONGUS vibration under braking ) and were changed.
Well, the vibration is gone , the car brakes fantasticly.
Now, I still have the squeaking noise.
I took it to the OPC which said that was strange, most likely the discs. I enquired about if could be a wheel bearing and they said it wasnt likely since a faulty wheel bearing makes a stronger, deeper noise.
this is a high pitch ( although not very loud ) squeaking noise. metallic.
it does occur when I do some B roads and start doing the turns and then keeps going until I brake. then it stops doing it for a few meters and starts doing again.
if I have my windows up or radio on is barely audible.
but all windows down and its readily identifiable.
ideas ?
even if I park and stop , start moving, it does it.
its not dependant of bumps ( ie, doesnt accentuate because of bumps ) so Im ruling out suspension. it doesnt accentuate with harder or softer braking , so im ruling out something with the brake discs or pads.
it DOES accentuate with speed, ie, more speed, the faster it squeaks.
but the funny thing is if I brake, it stops, ie, I touch the brakes, it stops. then it starts again.
what could it be ?
Sounds like you don't have the shims fitted - do you know if you've got them?
My car behaved the same as yours till I had the shims fitted.
Ray
sounds like the stone guards behind the front disks touching the disk slightly at the bottom. i had the same problem, whip the disks off and tap the stone guard back slighly with a rubber hammer or a tack-hammer - they bend really easily
