Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just got my CoA in the post today, lovely certificate signed by Andy Goss himself ,thank you very much! [ ] I've already heard some people nicely surprised by their findings (one of which has certainly added thousands to their car!) I've found out my car came with yellow seat belts to match the calipers, but now have black ones. I may call the previous owner and ask him if he knows where they are, might be nice to have them back on. So have any of the 30+ of you who asked me for the forms been delivered any nice surprises?

POST 2Original post

Yep, mine didn't have it's lovely leather seats originally. Also, it was a Porsche press fleet car. Whether that's a good or bad thing I don't know, but I can't change it so I'll just consider it a good thing. [&:]

POST 3Original post

Got mine this morning. No real surprises, but nice to have the build date. Interesting that one of the options was a 4 spoke wheel with airbag. I wonder what the default was - a tiller? Still, just sold the car, so the Certificate goes with it in the history file. Do you know if the free offer of CoA is still on? I'll get one for the new car if so. Regards Jon

POST 4Original post

Just sent mine off Rod, I'd love yellow belts on mine to match the calipers but can't justify the retro fit cost[ ]

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I didn't notice any deadline on the offer so I assume it's still on. I agree Ashley, would be nice to break up the black interior, do you know how much they are to retrofit?

POST 6Original post

can't remember exactly but to buy a set was in the region of £600 IIRC

POST 7Original post

Mine went in the post tonight. I'll let you know if anything interesting comes up when i get the CoA

POST 8Original post

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Andy, as comprhensive an answer as I'm ever likely to get! So around £348 not fitted....how many hours book time?

POST 10Original post

better but still expensive, is it possible to fit these DIY

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Rich, so around £500 all in. Hmmmm

POST 13Original post

Glad you posted this - completely forgot to send mine off; will do so this afternoon and if there are any surprises will let you know. BTW I too would love the yellow belts but £500 seems a lot of cash.

POST 14Original post

Havent got mine back yet despite having posted it 3 weeks ago - hope that is not a bad omen ! Chris

POST 15Original post

I got mine last week. The only thing that I wasn't expecting was that the paint code was shown as X1X1, which I thought was a mistake, until I found it in an American 996 order guide.

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I got the same kind of thing Richard, my paint code came up as Z4Z4 (Basalt Black Metallic) thought it should have been L9CZ, so that's why I guess. I also got for the 'Interior Material/Colours' Section 'GT3 Black Leather Interior' Why the need for the GT3, black is black surely, it's not a black that's specific to GT3s?

POST 17Original post

don't worry Chris i sent mine off about 3 weeks ago and it hasn't arrived yet either. Maybe they've been inundated!

POST 18 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I know Andy Goss was waiting to sign them off in batches, the first batch of 300 went out at the start of the month, he may be waiting for the next 300 before he signs them all off.

POST 19Original post

GT3 Black is exclusive to the GT3, and is a completely different shade of black to the standard 996. It is MUCH darker than the special order Turbo Black I have in mine. GT3RS Black is probably the most unusual Black you can get, which is a couple of shades darker than the dark GT3 Black you have. Personally, I prefer a lighter black, as it shows the dirt less. Don't be fooled into thinking the darker greys are light blacks either. It's a mistake a lot of people make! [ ]

POST 20 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

[ ] Damn I got the cheapest most worthless black on the market and it's now on the certificate! It's gonna be tears come resales [8D]

POST 21Original post

Hi All, Is there any chance of getting my CoA. I didnt attend the Silverstone Day! Is there a normal route to get this from Porsche? Cheers

POST 22 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Sean, I have the form, so if you want me to send you a copy send me a PM. Otherwise you can request one for yourself by emailing [email removed] with a request.

POST 23Original post

Here's a few more colour codes from the MY2003 Order Guide (USA): A1 Black B4 Carrara White G1 Guards Red X4 Speed Yellow E9 Midnight Blue Metallic G4 Dark Teal Metallic J2 Lapis Blue Metallic L1 Orient Red Metallic X1 Arctic Silver Metallic X2 Meridian Metallic Y1 Seal Grey Metallic Z4 Basalt Black Metallic 53 Forest Green Metallic 56 Cobalt Blue Metallic 58 Polar Silver Metallic 59 Slate Grey Metallic 63 Zanzibar Red 98 Non-Metallic Paint to Sample 99 Metallic Paint to Sample

POST 24 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Is B4 Carrera White or Carrara White? Or did they have Carrera white to start with then with the 997 they introduced Carrara White?[8|]

POST 25Original post

Typo on my part. I should have cut & paste. Now corrected. Thanks Rod.

POST 26 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It's odd because some cars got the US paint codes on the CoA and some the ROW ones. I think it may have been the air-cooled cars that got the ROW codes. Did anyone with a water cooled car get their proper paint codes?

POST 27Original post

Got my certificate this morning - no surprises. Colour code is J2V4 - is the V4 bit the cabriolet roof ? It's an interesting exercise to add up the cost of all the optional equipment when new - makes me thankful that I bought the car when it was a couple of years old and someone else took the big hit ! Chris

POST 28Original post

Got my CoA today. No surprises but a really nice document to have

POST 29Original post

Got mine yesterday and no surprises just confirmation that the original owner forgot to stop ticking the options boxes!! Boy am I pleased.

POST 30Original post

What was the exterior colour code shown on yours Julie? X1??

POST 31Original post

Mine arrived Saturday signed by Mr. Goss and very pretty it looks too! No real surprises, maybe the heated seats as thought they were standard, apparently not - whoever had my car before me thanks as you specced it up real nice - slide/tilt sunroof, sports exhaust, PCM with phone module, BOSE stereo, heated seats, aluminium trim, green shadeband on windscreen, basalt black with black leather and even a rear wiper!! I forgot - the three spoke steering wheel!

POST 32 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Apparently there have been a few mistakes made with some of these CoAs, I'd wager your heated seats was one of them, that's a costly retrofit!

POST 33Original post

I have a standard MY03 Coupe Tip and yes my COA shows the US code for Seal Grey (Y1Y1) instead of L6B4 as shown on the VIN Label. Interior is also shown as Black Leather instead of the VIN Label Code AH. The COA confirmed also what I thought - that the car was a UK C16 spec import from Porsche Stockholm - hence the Swedish customer prep docs that came with the other car paperwork. Must have been when the fad was to buy UK spec cars in Europe when they were significantly cheaper than buying them in the UK. Otherwise no surprises and the COA came in about 2 weeks.

POST 34Original post

Mine arrived on Saturday, as with others my colour code is shown as N1N1, also interior as black leatherette with guards red seatbelts - looks like ordinary leather to me unless someone else nos different? Did not get much in the way of optional equipment.... on board computer, centre console, air con, CD storage, Heavy Duty Battery, Leather / Carbon packag std, CDr-22 CD Radio....... and thats your lot for £75k As others have said ' nice to have for nothing and put in the file'

POST 35Original post

Mine arrived today = colour code shown as D3D3 Iris Blue Metallic... Options = sun roof, hardback seats left and right, top tinted windscreen, Sony CDX CD Tuner, Marble Grey/Blue Leather interior... Nothing exciting or surprising...

POST 36Original post

Mine came back within a couple of weeks of ordering. Like Richard's, the paint code is X1X1. I have a few questions if anyone is able to help - the 'sport package (manual)' is listed under optional equipment - I know that this included the sports suspension but were 18" turbo alloys also included? Also, my car has hard backed sports seats - were these also part of the 'sports package'? Lastly the 'Selling Porsche Centre' is given as 'Road Range' - any ideas as to what this means? The supplying dealer named in all of the paperwork I have was PC Wilmslow. As most of you have already said, the certificate is a useful document to have to add to the history although I wouldn't have paid £65 for it! Thanks to Rod for sorting this out.

POST 37Original post

OPCs were not always OPCs and used other trading names e.g. OPC Newcastle was JCT600 and on some documentation that was still appearing as recently as a couple of years ago, not sure if this is the explanantion for ROADRANGE though

POST 38Original post

I think Road Range Ltd had the Porsche franchise, but they are now Mercedes dealers. My C2 had the sport package, which included M030 suspension, 18" Turbo alloys and Sports Seats. (Mine were heated too.)
