Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well I like this but............ http://www.planir.com/mcgurk/CarDetails/67 What prices do you lot think??? I'll air my views in a bit! Surfice to say looking at spec, I think a tad overpriced???

POST 2Original post

I would say that it's worth about 25k tops because of mileage and specification. It's almost identical to mine, except the mileage. Mine's done 50k miles now and I estimate is worth about 21k (with OPC warranty). So 25k is probably not far off. Also depends on what he'll give you for yours, assuming you're trading in your current 996.

POST 3Original post

IMO no more than £20k in today's market :dont know: Ray

POST 4Original post

I think it depends on how desperate you are for the sale. I've got to be honest, I haven't seen any 2003 models under £20k without a "1" in front of the mileage. It's only when they get to reasonable mileage (50k+) and 2001 do they go sub-£20k.

POST 5Original post

I hate to say but it is a tad over-priced. I guess I'd say the same ball park as GD and agree with his comments re mileage; possibly £27k max. David - why don't you make him an offer? I missed out on two Seal Grey Targas whilst en-route to test drive them! I think they're a popular and sought-after colour for the 996 Targa. The 18" Carrera II wheels suit ths model well imo. ~ Maxie

POST 6Original post

If you can find one with the exact same spec and mileage at another dealer, then that one is overpriced. No doubt you have done an Autotrader search, and there are currently only 3 996 Targa Tips nationwide, and that one falls right in the middle. The dealers know how rare they are too. If you can find a private seller with one you will get a better price, for obvious reasons, and you will be able to bargain harder. But I doubt if you'll twist the arm of a trader hard enough to get £2-3000 off the sticker price.
