Suggestion

I know on later PCM units (Cayenne/997) it's possible to buy an aftermarket bluetooth (BT) attachment that replaces the SIM one and integrates fully with the PCM unit.

Suggestion

Your solution of using a seperate BT phone kit may seem sensible, but I believe that it's not possible to auto-mute your stereo, as some PCM don't have the appropriate connector in the back.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello I have very faint volume on the phone,it was working ok and it just went very quiet, i have tried to turn volume up and changed ring tone, but its not working can anyone help me cheers moe966

POST 2Original post

I have the same problem but cannot here anything at all. My phone rings with incoming calls but cannot hear anyone speaking. I can make outgoing calls and connect to other caller but we cannot hear each other. I have heard from an indie that Porsche do replacment module for the bargain price of £2k, they have suggested taking car in to connect to diagnostic and see if it says anything.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I took the car to wardair who removed the pcm and checked all the wires etc but with no result,he thinks its the phone module at the back of the unit which you cant get from porsche as they are having problems with the manufacture of them. I thinks a phone car kit is best option and a lot cheaper as the rest of the things on the pcm work fine

POST 4Original post

Hi, You might be able to source the PCM phone part seperately. I know on later PCM units (Cayenne/997) it's possible to buy an aftermarket bluetooth (BT) attachment that replaces the SIM one and integrates fully with the PCM unit. You can get them off eBay, so might be worth having a look to see if they support your unit. Your solution of using a seperate BT phone kit may seem sensible, but I believe that it's not possible to auto-mute your stereo, as some PCM don't have the appropriate connector in the back. Have a search on here, as it comes up a few times. Cheers.

POST 5Original post

OK, thanks for information. Oddly I can use the text messaging system so not totally up the wall. I may also try a specialist mobile phone installer and see if they have any help or tips.
