Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

14 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Im looking for a reputable shop who can Dry Ice clean my 997. Ideally around London area, but willing to travel out also. Thank you

POST 2Original post

Topaz in Park Royal and if you are prepared to travel outside of London Jtek in Towbridge offer dry ice cleaning. The videos on the Jtek website certainly look impressive.

Despite having done 67K over country lanes and roads over 14 years the underside of out 997, excluding fasteners and cross members, looked like new when we removed all the under trays and arch liners. Just a quick jet wash was all that was required. Gave everything a coat of Bilt Hamber UC then buttoned it back up for another 14 years. Edited to add: ah, looks like the latest detailing thing so ignore me. Edited by anonymous-user on Monday 12th June 21:02

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes, already contacted him. JTEK Auto has also excellent reviews...

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Interesting observation... Guys like Topaz, JTEK Auto and others, are almost 3.5x the price of Blast Smith AND take 4-5 days...whereas he says 1 day is sufficient. I was expecting some price differences...but it seems the big shops are are really pricey.

POST 7Original post

Let us know what the outcome is as this is something I’ve been considering

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Will do. Have decided on Blast Smith

What about all the unnecessary CO2 released to atmosphere............

Never heard of this, how does it work? What does it achieve?

55palfers said: What about all the unnecessary CO2 released to atmosphere............ Depends on use but around 20kg per hour! That said, it is not burning a carbon store that is millions/thousands/tens of years old so technically not new CO2. However it is a by-product of industrial processes that may involve this, and which may be sequestered in other ways if not flogged off as dry ice and made someone else’s emission.

POST 13Original post

mjablonskisa said: Will do. Have decided on Blast Smith Hi - did you get the job done by Blast Smith and if so how much was it for the dry icing and underseal protector (I am assuming that was on the cards). Also what Porsche was the job done for?

POST 14Original post

Let's not forget you get what you pay for. Jtek offer a 1 day blasting service but stress that it will not be a total clean, perhaps 65% clean. At least a 2 further days are needed to get to all that dirt and grime in the intricate areas. Then there's the machine they use. All machines are not equal and Jtek claim to use the safest machine available. You pay your money and take your choice.
