I run Bridgestones - almost as good as the Michelins - but at a lot lower cost.

I run Michelin PS2s at the moment on my GT3 and find them most agreeable (though dunno about on a C4S).

Suggestion
I had a quote for Michilin PS2 rears for my GT3 from Kwik Fit in Sussex and they quoted £400+ per tyre , If anyone knows where you can get a full set for £900 please let me know.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

When it comes to replacing tyres, which brands are recommended? Pirelli are currently my covers, but what about Continentals, Bridgestone, Michelins? What are owners experiences? Thanks for any advice!
Michelins are considered to be the best on this forum it would appear but at a price. c £800-£900 for a full set of N-rated tyres. Any of the others you have mentioned are also good but I have often read that Pirellis are noisy. I run Bridgestones - almost as good as the Michelins - but at a lot lower cost.

From being on here a while now, the safe money is Michelin or Continental.
For everyone that likes Pirellis and Bridgestones there will be someone who (in the case of the former) utterly hates them or (with the latter) is convinced that the previous generation which are now hard to come by are great and the current ones... very much less so.

i run pilot sports on my c4s. I own my own tyre company so the choice is easy. They just seem to suit the car better than other makes. They cost a bit more but i believe if you want to own one of the best cars built then why not use the best tyres
Hmm, I'm about to change from michelin to Pirelli this time round to see how they go. Our forthcoming wedding is causing me to make a few savings hence the change.
I've even cut this weekends ring trip to one night instead of two
c:
Anyway I thought pirellis were quieter than PS2's as Pirellis are a much softer tyre? maybe the softer ones are louder then, LOL I always thought it was the other way round :dont know:
Another vote for Pilot Sports. :thumb:
Also 235( rather than recommended 225) on the fronts is meant to be good for reducing understeer and looks better.
My C4S has N spec Pirelli Assims fitted on standard sizes 225/40 18 front & 295/30 18 rear, they've been on about 10 months now. Personally, I don't think I'll bother with them again, I find them noisey even at low speeds (36-39 mph) which really tees me off in 40 areas.
Michelins or Continentals for me next time, not Assims just for the noise issue alone. :x

I might be alone in having Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta, on mine. Not my choice but were fitted by the garage when i got the car. If you read the autoexpress reviews they came out top.. see below:
How did they test the tyre?
An Audi TT 2.0 TFSI was fitted with 245/30R20 from 8 leading tyre manufacturers. 12 different evaluation tests (6 on a wet track & 6 on a dry track) were carried out at the Pirelli test track at Sumare in Brazil. Wet tests looked at aquaplaning (straight & sideways), braking, driving safety, handling time and cornering time. Dry tests analyzed braking, driving safety, handling time, slalom, comfort and noise.
How did Vredestein perform?
Wet tests – 'The new Vredesteins had the wet tests all to themselves. They had the competition on the ropes in sideways aquaplaning. They were also problem free, easy and fast in handling."
Dry tests – 'The Vredestein were good natured in both wet and dry. Although they didn't have the best braking result, they made up for it with fast times in the slalom and handling tests.
Overall positions:
1st Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta :?
2nd Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric
3rd Pirelli P Zero Nero
3rd Continental Sport Contact 3
5th Michelin Pilot Sport 2
6th Dunlop SP Sportmaxx
7th Hankook Ventus S1 Evo
8th Toyo Proxes T1 R
But so far i have yet to be impressed, they don't inspire confidence when you try and push a little, although they are a good looking tyre. Will defo be trying something else when it comes to change.
Just had a full set of Michelin Pilot Sport N3's fitted to my C4S - a big improvement on the old continentals that were on it previously (though the rears of those were quite worn).
ATS are doing an offer with 30% off the price if you buy 4 michelin tyres so got them for £740 (which was better than I could get anywhere else by callling round, including Costco)
Tyres for C4S
Many thanks for all your replies and advice. Looks like Michelins are the top choice. I am tempted by Bridgestones but if it's the best option, why compromise? All the best!! :thumb:
Cheungy,
I just had the two back tyres on my 4S replaced by Northern Tyre Company in Knaresborough - they beat Black Circle's quote by £100 and had the tyres in stock. A very satisfactory automotive retail experience.
