Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
has never been a GT car (meaning designed/manufactured by "Porsche GT cars" division) - I would be surprised if that was to change now.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

There is a lot of great info in the article below for all of our Porsche model line ups. Can someone help me interpret page 8 of this article? Is the 991.2
GTS
going to be a NA engine or not? I really, really really don't want to buy a turbo. I don't care about mpg, emissions or having 500hp on a public road. I want that flat-6 NA howl from a
911
.
On a separate note, I love Andreas
Preuninger. He clearly gets it. (of course). Manual, naturally aspirated, PSE. I hope he wins out against the lawyers and marketers!
Ten things we can expect from Porsche's GT department | Top Gear
As I interpret this - yes the 991.2
GTS
will be turbocharged. That's why Preuninger mentions that we have to live with a
GTS
being a little quicker in the mid-range (compared to non-turbocharged GT cars) but the rewards of the NA GT cars comes above 5,000 rpm.
I think what he is saying is that he can live with a turbocharged
GTS
being quicker than his GT Motorsport division cars in some instances (mid range rpms) but overall the GT cars will be faster of course.
Thanks. I was 60% there but was hoping for a different outcome which blinded me from what he was saying. I don't know how they are going to produce a
GTS
. If it is just more turbo boost, I am not interested at all.
I don't read it that way at all. To me, he is saying that
if
the GTS went turbo in the future we would have to live with it being a little quicker in the mid-range. Then he says that it would be the smart move to stay with NA engines in the GT cars. If that includes the GTS, it seems to be pretty clear that no turbo yet.
I had read earlier (can't remember where) that the GTS would remain atmospheric. I just checked the Porsche website and they are calling the GTS the new 911 Carrera GTS, so I assume that it is the 991.2, and it is definitely NA.
The drive unit: an aspirated engine at the highest technical level. That's how the 911 Carrera GTS models combine the considerable sporting ability of a 911 Carrera S with a performance that you would otherwise only see on the racetrack.
The
GTS
has never been a GT car (meaning designed/manufactured by "Porsche GT cars" division) - I would be surprised if that was to change now.
Preuningers GT cars division uses their own part bins and the cars are not manufactured on the same production lines as the other Porsche cars (including the
GTS
)
I am quite sure a 991.2
GTS
has not been released yet. The
GTS
trim used to appear in the second half of the model cycle to boost sales.
The 430hp
GTS
on the Porsche website certainly is a 991.1
Correct. The
GTS
on the web site is still the 991.1 and is no longer in production. They stopped producing them around November 2015 but still list it on the web site for some reason (to drive appeal/demand?) Just like the 918 is still listed but all sold.
Correct GTS is NOT a GT car. :0
Yeah, I agree there is some interpretation of that paragraph which is why I asked the question here. I'm not 100% sure what it means.
The fog of war, Porsche style. If that is the 991.1
GTS
, and I take your word that it is, modifying the web site to call it the new
GTS
for a car that isn't being made any more and cannot be ordered is a bizarre move. These car marketing types do some strange things.
I interpret the comment about the
GTS
being a little quicker in the midrange as meaning the 991.2
GTS
will be turbo, and will be a bit faster than a NA 991.2 GT3 up to about 5000 RPM.
Yep. I think you are right....that is what AP is saying. He is actually talking about the GT cars (i.e GT3) and keeping it naturally aspirated as long as everyone else can understand that the
GTS
being turbo is going to be a bit quicker until 5000 rpm when the NA engine will pull away.
He is also saying that NA rocks. Read the words carefully.
Thanks for the input. The 991.2
GTS
(still under development) must be a fast fast car. They likely already have a mule and know the results.
