Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

It will be interesting to see if this pans out as being true. I wonder if they actually meant the GT3 rather than GTS. What can Porsche do to the N/A 3.8L to keep the performance on par with the turbo Carrera S (on paper the 991.2 S looks faster than the 991.1 GTS)?
Yeah, me too. It's an easy mistake. However, the rumor was first reported back in December. See this article.
2017 Porsche 911 | car review @ Top Speed
Autocar may just be circular reporting previous rumors. And I agree with the placement of the models between the 991.2S, GTS and GT3. This would be hard for Porsche but maybe the NA aspect is the key to attract the NA guys even if the 991.2S is marginally faster. .
Mine too. In fact, there is a 2016 GTS on a dealer lot 12 miles from my house. It only has 2 options for $119k. But it has the must haves for me such as PSE, SC, MT, wide body, Bose. I could retrofit aerokit, red seat belts and SPASM later. I really like the NA F6 wail and I'm afraid I am going to lose my opportunity. I even went so far and negotiated a price (6% off). Wife even gave me the thumbs up for the purchase. But after cranking the numbers and enduring the 10% drop in the Stock market this year coupled with the necessity to deplete my emergency fund just scared me off from following through. My timing is off.
A 991.2 GTS would be perfect.
If Porsche continued with the approach of what the GTS represents, it would seem more likely that they would bundle options and tweak the ECU to produce a few more hp out of the 3.0 turbo. NAs as speculation will be primarily the province of Porsche Motorsports. And, we do not know how long that will continue.......FIA, IMSA, et al rules will impact how Porsche approaches their racing derived power.
Don't hold your breath nor believe everything in this blogs prior to announcements. Rumours are spreading the 991.2GT3 will be Turbo. Maybe not the same engine in the Carrera but it makes sense. Of course, if they make the GT3 Turbo, the GT4 is dead as NA.
There is no way they will make the GTS NA if the GT3 is turbo. Of course, this is all premature. Who knows what they will do but I would not take as gospel whats written in these blogs.
Yeah. I agree. The more and more I think about it, the more I realize that carrying a 3.8L NA does not make sense from a business perspective when all their other cars are going turbos. I can make a better business case why the GT3 should be turbo. I think the author of the article is getting the GTS mixed up with GTX.
I am actually shocked and the low accountability and rumor mill generators coming from these auto blogs and magazines. I guess to stir up ratings etc and ensure that guys like me will repost nonsense.
I could be wrong in agreeing with u, but after digesting everything I've read, it Seems the GTS models will move over to the GT Division and that's where all the NA flat sixes will be developed and built. The GTS is the only 911 I would consider in the future., as I am pretty much a mid-engine guy in my P sport cars. But I can't help but like that GTS. That NA 435 Hp 3.8 L engine is really sweet, especially with the PSE. We shall see in a year or two when we move up house-wise to what my wife wants but with that extra garage space that I need.
Its not 430, its 430HP and Its not a different engine that the 3.8 in the S. Its the exact same engine with a different intake and polished heads.
No, your right.
That is exactly why I don't like blogs. That was an old article I remembered. But its getting worse and worse. They are desparate for clicks.
No you can't. Its not about leaving a few rare models. Its getting the entire consumer based to accept the reality of the future. And they do that by sending a massive message: "Look here. This is the future. NA is dead"
Porsche like /Audi uses racing as their test bed for future technology. Watch what happens to the GT3 classification for engines......FIA, IMSA et al and you will get insights into what is going to happen with NA vs. turbo vs. Hybrid. Remember, Porsche was working Hybrid 3 or 4 years ago in the GT class. Porsche is running turbo/hybrid in LMP1......only a matter of time trickle down happens.
