Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

i recently bought a 986 and changed the front hood dampers, as i thought they were a bit slow opening, compared to the rear ones, but when i fitted the new one it didnt seem to make much difference, theyre still not as fast opening as the rear ones, and they dont seem as rigid either.

I don't think speed should be a major factor in replacing the hood dampeners. The hood weighs about twice what the rear trunk weighs so it will obviously be slower, as long as it isn't drooping and opens all the way there shouldn't be a problem. The temperature in your area can also affect how well the dampeners work. I wouldn't worry about it.
