Suggestion

If they are OEM and are 10" in the rear I bet they are 996-spec option wheels.....18 x 10" w/ a 65mm offset.....you'd have to use a 15mm spacer.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey there, I am in need of new tires for my 2004 BoxsterS but I figured maybe I could also swap my wheels as well. Currently I have the BoxsterS II wheels which I like but I could use something different now! I am interested in two types of wheels. Mainly the SportTechno ones. Questions are: - Has anyone fitted in a Boxster before? - Any pics? - Are they a direct fit or changes required? By the way, I am talking about the 18" ones not the 20" that the put on the Cayenne. Other than that I am also interested in the Carrera Classics (5-spoke) ones. If anyone is selling them I would be interested! Interested also with tires. Thanks in advance!

POST 2Original post

I'm getting replica Sport Technos put on my ride in less than two weeks. I chose the replicas because the factory 986 spec S.T.s are only 9" in the rear,I want 10" which is what the replicas are. No spacers, the wheels fit as is. Here are some pics.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey thanks! Those look good in that Boxster! I am definitely interested now. Post some pics up when you fit them in! How many " for the front? I found them here. OEM, is this a trustworthy website and prices are good? Thanks in advance! Edit: Where did you buy your replicas from? Do you trust the quality?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Sorry for the bump, anyone who is selling or has more info about these wheels? Thanks in advance.

i posted this pic last week http://www.seriouswheels.com/pics-2005/2005-Porsche-Miniature-Cayenne-Prototype-Golf-Cart-SA-1280x960.jpg

POST 6Original post

I bought mine from wheelsandcaps, they sell on eBay and have a website. The dudes are really cool there. I think it was something like $750 shipped to my house for Italian replicas. The price included wheels only,no center caps no nothing, shipping 5-7 days UPS Ground. I've heard that their replicas come in the same boxes and are the same quality as Wheel Dynamics but $400-500 less. BUT wheelsandcaps is also a much larger operation then Wheel Dynamics so I can see how they have much better prices. I'll post pics when they arrive. I can't wait.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

wow wheels and caps have them for 640$ only...this is incredibly tempting but I am kinda hesitant about the quality of the italian replicas... argh! They look amazing though I am sure they will look great on your car too...

POST 8Original post

Trust me,I checked on the quality before I bought them. I searched every forum I could find, talked to people who have them found out that everyone who has had them was satisfied, not one complaint.(even from the dudes that did DE and Auto-x on them) Many of us have run Italian replicas, Jeph, Unklekraker, my Dad, myself, RandallNeighbour and a number of other members on here, like I said not one complaint.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks again your feedback is greatly appreciated. I think I will pull the trigger on those replicas and keep my OEM 17 for backup........!

POST 10Original post

Those Sport Technos are awesome ! Absolut / Blink, be sure to post pics when you get them... Nick

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So just for fun I called my dealer today and asked for a price quote. They said for a set of OEM SportTechnos one must pay 5,500$!!! I knew the price will be outrageous but I did not expect that much! Maybe he was talking about the 20" ones that go with the Cayenne and not the 18" I wanted? Still the price was ridiculous... One last question, http://www.finishlinewheels.com/ This website claims to have factory OEM wheels and I see some very good prices on the SportTechnos for OEM ones over there. They do show the SportTechnos there having 10" on the back whereas blink mentioened the OEM's are 9" on the back...what gives? Anyone who has bought from them before and knows that everything they say is for real? Thanks to everyone!

POST 12Original post

If they are OEM and are 10" in the rear I bet they are 996-spec option wheels.....18 x 10" w/ a 65mm offset.....you'd have to use a 15mm spacer.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

blink, This link , goes directly to the ones on the rear I believe. The description mentions 47MM OFFSET? Sorry for all the q's I am about to buy.

POST 14Original post

http://home.adelphia.net/~swilsonator/images/wheels_tequipment.jpg Guess the OEM are 10" on the rear for the 986........ I wonder why the prices are so cheap for OEM?

POST 15Original post

i believe that site sells what you see is what you get, so if they only have one, they will sell just one. i dont think they have a set of 4, thats the thing. i may be wrong, but looks like it, when i had a diff car there was a site like that, or actually that may be the same site ?!

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

djolmas, thanks however once I add to cart these wheels I can specify quantity.

POST 17 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Bringing this thread back from the dead. I ordered my SportTechnos from www.wheeldynamics.com!! They are italian replicas with one year warranty and lifetime structural warranty. If you are going the replica route, call them and talk to Carlos. He is an amazing business man. He gave me 150$ off the total plus free shipping cause I am a member here! He even shipped them same day! Great business and cannot wait to see those!

POST 18Original post
