Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I expect users will use voice control rather than mess about with it.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

These are spy shots from the new Panamera and I hope this does not trickle down to the 992. Yuk. I prefer real buttons with no finger prints to look at after a push...

It's basically a touch screen. Looks smart but no tactile engagement. Will probably be cheaper than traditional switchgear but will date awfully. I expect users will use voice control rather than mess about with it. Not nice.
Also, lost of tactile feedback is huge step down for me. You have to stare at that thing for a minute to find what you need and make sure you rubbed it just right... There is no way you can find any of those buttons without looking at them. All look no function. I wander what Ferdinand would've said about that... And I want to see them using this crap on their race cars!
How soon until the speedometer becomes a colored bar graph graphic ala the 1980's era Corvette?
I agree this will date but I understand trying to appeal the tablet generation of younger buyers...
As mentioned previously the biggest issue I have with these things is that you have to take your eyes off the road and stare at the blasted thing to press it just right for it to work. Just like a touch screen. Not my idea of a drivers car.
So who is going to be the first to sue Porsche when they get in an accident because they had to take their eyes off the road to hit the sport plus button instead of hitting The PSM deactivation button. LOL
Hopefully this is Panamera only. I mean I definitely agree about the loss of tactile buttons but the current Panamera is out of control. You still have to look down to know what the hell you're hitting.

I think it looks great and will probably include some degree of haptic feedback as well as be tied into other buttons or switches on the steering wheel for selection of things like sport mode, etc. As for finger prints, the latest generation of glass surface treatments are surprisingly fingerprint free as long as you aren't eating potato chips while you touch them. Another thing this will do is reduce the potential damage from spills that today can seep through the slots between the buttons and ruin the underlying switch.
Then again, this forum has become almost as intolerant of change as a Corvette forum so it's likely we'll have 5 more threads and 50+ page of complaining if this truly comes to production.......
The only way they could fit that across the 718 model line is to kill the manual stick shift with its big leather boot.
No way Porsche would kill the manual.
Wait a minute.. :helpme:
