Also using a blow torch to melt out the bush in a coffin arm - not sure what high heat will do to the hardness properties?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Stumbled upon this little known YouTube channel with some great how to guides on fixing the typical 996 issues. Thought you guys might find it useful: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUt-IYEHT8soCway1mCd_oQ

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I can't believe how few views some of his videos have received - deserves to be much more well known. Great content, well shot, honest opinions, doesn't hide it when things go wrong. Hopefully the 911UK forum will help support him and encourage him to make more videos. :thumb:

POST 4Original post

Quite a niche market I guess mate, Porsche owners who are willing to have a go at fixing things themselves. I'm all for it! 😁 I've made a vid myself but I'm too embarrassed to post it on this forum there's experts here and I'm just babbling away trying to explain how to change an aircon pipe uh:

POST 5Original post

New channel to me so have subscribed to give a bit of support. I think I'll kick off by watching his coilover install... MF

POST 7Original post

Gave him a sub too. I'm sure this will come in useful!

POST 8Original post

I watched a few of his videos last night and thought some of his working practices were questionable. In one he had the rear on axle stands, positioned under the two tubular diagonal brace bars, with big blocks of wood between stand and bars. It didnt look safe to me. I think he also hit the hub with a hammer to pop the coffin arm ball joint which I thought was a no-no on aluminium. Also using a blow torch to melt out the bush in a coffin arm - not sure what high heat will do to the hardness properties? Then other aspects were well thought, like putting some load in the suspension before tightening the inner coffin arm bolt thus preventing a permanent twist in the bush when put back on its wheels. I'm sure we all have 'techniques' that are risqué but those stood out for me. In general gave good insight into many common tasks. Ian
