This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

http://picasaweb.google.com/tullostech/Boxster02 What is this attached to the intake pipe? Thanks Nick

POST 2Original post

dirt.... ....j/k...just part of the design of the tube, it's hollow. I assume it's for sound deadening, sort of a muffler effect.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

hollow? man that looks like some air turbulence to me. But how do I clean the damn engine bay? its not like I can spray it down...

POST 4Original post

There was a post on here last week about removing this "muffler". http://986forum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15580&highlight=muffler

POST 5Original post

Gary, he wouldnt be able to remove his intake Muffler, his is the type i was talking about that is intigrated into the intake tube design.

POST 7Original post

Thats why you are here to correct me, if he would have starting hacking stuff off I'd be the one to have to go pick him up on the Pontchartrain Causeway at 2am.

POST 8Original post

Wait, im not entirely correct lol, If he wanted to remove the intake he could if he bought the sylicone elbow like someone on the other thread suggested
