Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Hello all. In Oct of 2023, I got rear ended, badly, by a drunk driver and the car has just gotten out of the shop but had to be returned. Operation of the two side by side "spoiler" and "Sport" has been impacted. At first, when you pushed the spoiler button, it activated the sport mode, seen illuminated on the instrument cluster, and the sport LED on the switch came on. Pushing the sport mode button did nothing but I can't tell as you can't see the spoiler motion while driving (if ops were fully reversed) When I first picked up the car, the spoiler was up and eventually by pushing the buttons, it finally went down however I have seen this before. Kinda sticks I would say or takes a longer push of the switch to get it down but not really relevant here. After a couple days as I was bringing the car back to the shop to fix the switch issue, both switches became dead, no functionality at all. Off the top of my head, I would think the switches are okay. What do you guys think? I pick up the car tomorrow and I'll handle the repair, suggestions please, thank you. Dave

POST 2Original post

My first thought is why are you handling the repair? Your car should be made whole by the insurance company including being returned to full functionality.

POST 3Original post

Because the damage was very extensive and the cost more than the total loss amount. They saved the car by not going over that number as it wasn't much over but this certainly would have pushed it over. It was a reasonable request that we both agreed upon as there were other things that they fixed gratis.
