Suggestion

Most fault codes will reset themselves after a certain number of driving cycles (engine cold-hot-cold), so worth doing sooner than later.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just returned from a round trip down South and back (1000 miles) and the car performed impeccably apart from one strange moment - it's happened once before (last summer) and I wonder if it is engine management or just my driving. When reversing uphill with low revs, the engine stalled and try as I may I couldnt restart the car. However, after leaving it for half an hour it started perfectly and ran without a further problem. If it is an engine management thing, is there anything I can do to override it if it happens again, since this time I was parked at a busy junction across 2 car park entrances ! Chris

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Since no one has commented on this, I presume that I am alone in experiencing this situation and that it is a quirk of my car or my driving - or does any one of you experts know different ? Chris

POST 3Original post

I had two occasions in about 3 1/2 years of ownership of my C2 when it didn't start instantly. It was just like it was flooded, and took a lot of cranking before it fired up Both occasions were first thing in the morning, when parked in my garage. I have no idea what was wrong, and because it only did it the twice I decided not to worry. In my case it fired up within a minute or so, spluttering a bit before it cleared. It might be worth getting the fault codes read, just in case it has stored any. Most fault codes will reset themselves after a certain number of driving cycles (engine cold-hot-cold), so worth doing sooner than later.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Richard - I think I'll follow your advice. Chris
