Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi All, RE:996 C2, 3.4. First post, so hello. I have bought some LED rear lights, and have got them all wired up, with indicators working, as are the rear driving lights, fog and reverse. However- my brake lights are not working. When I press the brake pedal, I get a quick flash from the 3rd brake light, but nothing after that. Any ideas on what it could be? Do I have a faulty pair of lights? Other than the no brakes they are great! Thanks, Kam

POST 2Original post

The problem is caused by lack of load on the brake light circuit with the LED bulbs. You will also find that your cruise control doesn't work (if fitted). You need to put a resistor across the LEDs to generate more load. Here are a couple of threads about it: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?/topic/13818-any-nice-996-led-tail-lights/page__view__findpost__p__68777 http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=54949 Sorry - I forgot - Kam!
