Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

- I spoke to someone this week who had the IPD plenum and a throttle body installed on a 987.2.
Leading evidence: 'Install on a 987' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'way' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Install on a 987' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I have also used Scott's produces over the years and 25hp with all that included makes much more sense that 15hp by using a smaller pulley.

Suggestion
The person running the dyno can use any factored loss thru the drivetrain to then state that the hp increase at the flywheel is xxx or if they want to disprove that product, they go the other way.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

i noticed no difference in AC or cooling the car, it was a 2.5
I have a 2006 C M with 36k miles,
Fabspeed
catback & K&N filter - considering the IPD competition upgrade since the car could take better advantage of those.
I found the
IPD plenum
@ EDO Performance for $700 & the
BOSCH 0280750473
TB at
Rock Auto
for $157.
1) Are the performance gains worth it for a street
2) Would this require purchasing a new MAF?
3) Will the
ECU
require a flash or (I've seen some post)
Softronic
flash?
4) I see some speak to
Cobb Accessport
?!?
@docman
- I spoke to someone this week who had the IPD plenum and a throttle body installed on a 987.2. No noticeable performance gains, so they wound up removing it. YMMV, though.
Foodbiker & GT3twenty10 - Do you know these were 74 mm or 82 mm TB? Also, did these cars have improved breathing via lower restrictive air cleaner &
exhaust
? The
Fabspeed
exhaust
was on the car when I got it. The K&N maybe gives me a bit more induction howl, no additional power as far as I can tell.
I've also been thinking about
Soul
catted
headers
.
Headers
primarily will always be the power adder and
exhaust
will help a little as well. For in take gizmos the only way those help are about 7k plus which we rarely drive and even then hardly noticeable. It’s not worth the money at all imo. The sound is better . A track only application is the only way those items work… high rpm’s . The X51 manifold would be a nice addition… those help
In my experience the RSS under pulley was the biggest bang for the buck, Reducing parasitic drag is an instant torque gain. i noticed no difference in AC or cooling the car, it was a 2.5
M96 engine
for reference.
I did the Softronics race plenum pkg on my 06CS yrs ago. Besides the tune it came with 80mm TB and 996/997 plenum.
GT3
came with 80mm TB then later 82mm. For
987.1
(non DFI), 80mm TB is plenty. 82mm TB works better with
987.2
(DFI). But agree that best and foremost upgrade are
headers
(preferably catless).
Next
would be a tune (Softronics or
COBB
). TB and plenum upgrades won't be noticeable unless you have aftermarket
headers
IMO.
This is probably the way to go.

Edit;
From the website description, and forum posts from people who have this kit installed, it sounds epic. Less about the peak hp/tq numbers, and more about the mid-range torque you get. The m97 with 10-20% more mid range torque would be epic, which is why this kit is on my list. $2500+ is steep, but the benefits sound worth it.
The posts I've read from people with this kit say it's transformative. As in they couldn't live with the car without it, after experiencing the additional power.
Full disclosure, I'm parroting what I've read, no direct experience (yet) but the descriptions sound intoxicating.
From what I've read, this mod can't be understated. The dyno charts they provide shows a solid 15hp gain (iirc), just with the pulley, which is nutty to me.
I have the rss harmonic dampener pulley and accompanying belt in my garage waiting to go on as a result. Can't wait to try it out.
Dyno chart from RSS for their pulley just for Augie. Blue is basline, red is with the pulley installed.
I hope you don't think you will be able to feel the different 15hp makes because you won't.
Not saying it's not there just that you can't feel it and it's a stretch to say it's 15hp increase.
It's a lot like all
exhaust
mfg. out there that show you all kinds of dyno test results as to how they adds all this hp etc. over the factory
exhaust
. It's really really hard to beat
PSE
in sound and hp/torque.
A far better and much more expensive is the complete kit from Scott @ Softronics.
It add a real 25 BHP and loads of mid range torque
This kit includes:
Genuine Porsche GT3 Throttle Body
Genuine Porsche Plenum
Collapse proof four ply silicone turbo grade intake hose reinforced internally with tubing
All necessary hoses, hose clamps & install hardware (20 parts in total)
USB Vehicle Interface Cable (*)
Softronic flashing software
Custom tailored vehicle specific performance flash file
*This product comes with a OBD2 cable, and software... that allows flashing for only 1 vehicle as it is tied to that vehicle's VIN. This is also a special order item as they are made to order and require parts only available from Porsche.
Lol.
I love how you disparage the pulley and "all after market exhausts" but laud the softronics kit. Let's trust softronics HP claims but say that RSS and others are all making up their dyno charts, yup, makes sense.
I've followed enough
exhaust
and other manufacturers claims to make my statement. I have also used Scott's produces over the years and 25hp with all that included makes much more sense that 15hp by using a smaller pulley.
Another area that's grossly overstated is chassis dyno tests. The person running the dyno can use any factored loss thru the drivetrain to then state that the hp increase at the flywheel is xxx or if they want to disprove that product, they go the other way.
