Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 911uk: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I need to get a code reader as the check engine light keeps coming on since new exhaust was fitted. Is there a particular one I should go for? There seem to be a few on amazon all around the £20-30 mark. Thanks for any and all advice.

POST 2Original post

I recently went through the same dillema. I went for a Foxwell 510 Elite for £110 delivered, it seemed to be best of the bunch. For a 996 - it doesn't offer much in the way of coding / special functions but does read all the important modules. Comes in a nice case too. The next step up would be Durametric for sure. I considered the clone cables but it seems far too hit and miss. I bought mine here. Came delivered via RoyalMail in a couple of days. Edit - if you're close enough to Chelmsford to make sense, you're more than welcome to come and use it

POST 3Original post

I've got an autel ap200 which is more comprehensive and displays camshaft deviation, but I actually end up using my cheap Bluetooth one +android car scanner the most as you can log values and the interface is just so much better.

POST 5Original post

On the subject of code readers, can anyone tell me if a code reader can read off how many 'launches' a 997.2 has done or do you need a PIWIS to do this?
