Also anyone have recommendation for a scale set that works well but is priced for a low use DIY garage.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have searched, and dug through old posts but am still feeling torn on direction to go.
When I bought the car prior owner had installed eibach progressive spring kit. I love the ride height, but mileage and age is dictating that strut replacement in the near future.
Me never being able to leave well enough alone would like to go coil over. This is my first rodeo with a coil over setup and most of my suspension tuning experience falls outside of automobiles. While I feel some of my experience translates it is not nearly as complex as setting up a car.
Reality is my 996 is a street car, it will see some autox, a few DE's with maybe a track day in the next 3-4 years.
My real reason for wanting to do a coil over setup vs just swapping struts is I would like to be able to tune the personality of the car.
I am excited to learn auto suspension tuning but am a bit afraid of the can of worms I might be opening. I do not have any good local contacts with vast experience.
So for a third play car, that is mostly street driven but will see auto x and de's as my kids age what direction should I be looking?
The few people I know locally seem to speak nothing but praise of kwv3. Those guys are BMW Audi guys, from what I have read 996 users don't sing as much praise for kw.
Also anyone have recommendation for a scale set that works well but is priced for a low use DIY garage. I have yet to find a shop in my area that does corner balancing.
H&R Street Performance coilovers. I have them and they will satisfy all of your coilover needs. Cheap, great on the street and will handle the occasional track day with ease. The KW V3 option is a fantasic choice that will get the job done and provide easy adjustment. If you can afford to have the KW V3 set up installed it's a no brainer, go for it.
I agree that the V3 are excellent. But for no more track days than you are planning you might check out Feal. They seem to do a good job and can setup a set of coilovers for your application.
For scales, check out Longacre's RBC catalog. I got the RBC641 and the caster/Camber gauge for just over $1k. I got a set of leveling pads for $200 off eBay. And if you can splurge for the Longacre laser level and ride height (also eBay) it is well worth the money. Add in the Smart String and total setup was about $2k but works really really well.
