I think they cost a bit more than a few pence to run (mine might be bigger than yours though), but its a good idea.

I wonder if there are any available that run on 12v.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

For £25 on eBay you can great a great little device. Every night when I get home I put the dehumidifier in the passenger footwell and leave it on over night. It costs pennies to run and is great at keeping moisture at bay and your electrics damp free. Just an idea if you don't have a heated garage this winter to keep the damp out. My car is my daily do does lots of short runs and gets warm and cold everyday so moisture can build up. Might not be for everyone but worth a look if you have to leave your car in a damp garage or covered up.
Hi
I was thinking about doing this occasionally (in my Boxster) as I have a few dehumidifiers (lived in HK recently). I think they cost a bit more than a few pence to run (mine might be bigger than yours though), but its a good idea.
I wonder if there are any available that run on 12v.

They seem to be doing a good job, no misty screen.
Hi
Ahhhhh.....
I thought you meant the big(ish) mains powered things. They remove up to 20 litres in a day and really dry things out. We use them at home for drying clothes and in winter to stop condensation. Better than a dedicated clothes dryer if you use them in a small enclosed room I find.
I'm surprised the desiccant type make a difference in a car, but if they do then they do! I may try some. Probably you can make up some very cheaply. I shall look into it.

It's this one:

I use microwaveable desiccant bags (same as Mark H above) in my winter hack that lives outside. Pingi brand. A couple on the dashboard overnight. They live in the car until they indicate they need refreshing in the microwave.
I chucked them in the 911 in the garage the other night and the misting has gone already :thumb:
Hi guys, sorry for the late reply. It's 9v with a phone charger type plug 240-9v the cable us quite thin being 9v so the door shuts and locks no issue at all. In a couple of hours it had taken half an egg cup full of water out of the car/atmosphere in the car so really worthwhile. I'll try and get a link up. For £25 it's a no brainer.
