Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Could anyone help me please. I need to replace my savannah panel beneath the rear screen. The problem is my car is a 98 C2 and the PET i looked at is 2005. I have contacted this company on ebay but seller said the panel is from a 2000 model stating its 'late textured vinyl' and not leather. He also stated that my 98 would have a sort of football type finish whereas the later model is more like a wavy texture. Im confused. Can anyone tell me whether this would be a match or am i better to stay clear. If not right, could someone point me in the right direction. I have my original panel, its just that the leather surface peeled off on one corner and therefore needs replacing. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350431487217&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT thanks, David E

I think the seller is correct, in that the PET lists 3 Savannah panels: Up to 99 in Leatherette - 996.555.081.02.S18 00 and on in Leatherette - 996.555.081.02.S32 All years in Leather: - 996.555.081.03.S31 Presumably the texture is the difference between the S18 and S32 part. Have you tried a breaker like Porsch-Apart? A new leather one is a whopping £366.04 inc VAT. A mere £299.99 in leatherette!

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
