Ok, I did it. Placed an order for a new Cayman S this afternoon. Order #2204623, January build date with February delivery. Hope to have it in time for Sebring in March.
I was set on Black with Carrera Classic wheels but pulled into the lot and an Artic Silver Demo car with Carrera S wheels was outside surrounded by other Porsche 997s and Boxsters shining in the beautiful Florida sunshine. It absolutely radiated. Totally changed my mind seeing the car outside with other Porsches with various wheel choices. The car is stunning , absolutely gorgeous, and I have to say again, better looking than the Carrera. It was parked next to a red Carrera. It looks larger than in the pictures too, not small like a Miata, Honda S2000, or even BMW Z4, not big mind you, but substantial.
Anyway, I can't wait. Thanks to K-Man-S and all the Cayman club members for making and sharingall the info thats available on the web site. It provided all the info I needed to make my decision. My car by the way is: ..............Artic Silver, Carrera S wheels with colored crests, PASM, Sport Chrono, Mats, Sport steering wheel and Bose. Yee Haw!!!!

I went with the standard seats in black. Just wait until you see one. You will not be disappointed. Lots of folks were coming into the dealership just to get a look at the car. Positive comments by all. Almost had to take a number just to sit in the car.
The car definitely excites people...we had many people stop by today to view it in person as well.
Congratulations! I spent about an hour at the dealership seeing it for the first time today. In some respects, somewhat anti-climactic after seeing all of the posts, reviews, magazine articles. However, my impression is that the car truly has a character of its own. The stance when viewed from the back is very wide and quite different from the Boxster. Sounded much quieter inside than what I had imagined when motor was running. Dealer informed me that almost all options are now available including XRR, Carrera Sport Wheels. The car at the dealership was Arctic Silver/Black standard leather with 19' Carrera S wheels, PASM, Sport Chrono, PCM, TPMS, Xenon, Bose & Sport Steering Wheel. Looked Sharp!

Your car sounds fantastic! I will get to see that Artic Silver in person tomorrow, but I cannot change my mind now no matter what, in 4 days my car will be completed! Hoping to see it in January.
