Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Discussions that suspect a cause
1

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suspected cause

So buyer's cars showing up at dealerships is probably a good sign that emissions cert has passed.

Leading evidence: 'good sign' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'good sign' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

IMO, we should all email the Porsche marketing department and tell them to lose the silly black cover! If they want to create a 'buzz' about the Cayman, they should let people drive it!

POST 2Original post

They can't, the Cayman has not passed US emissions certification.

POST 3Original post

K-Man, So does that mean that when some of our cars arrive, assuming some are arriving before January 14th, that they cannot be driven? Is that why the push off is January 14th? Do yo know when they will have passed the certification? This could really make some people very unhappy. Russ

POST 4Original post

The January 14th date is more about the date the car is introduced at the US Auto Show in Detroit. The EPA certification is a tangential development. We all need to hope Porsche resolves that issue well before the launch date. Some of us are hoping that such resolution includes restoring the Motronic settings to their original state, before Porsche decided our cars would not be allowed to whoop 997s. How is that for an incendiary comment? JHellow

POST 5Original post

jhello, I was not aware that the issue of restoring the cayman to its original state was even up for discussion. That would be something to get excited over. I certainly hope the issues are settle soon. Thanks for the info! Russ

POST 6Original post

I doubt there will bea big announcement from Porsche that they've passed certification, what I expect will happen is that Porsche will hold buyer's cars up in port (as they did with GT3's) until emissions cert is passed. If it isn't passed by Jan 14th, your dealer won't have your car by Jan 14th. So buyer's cars showing up at dealerships is probably a good sign that emissions cert has passed. As far as retuning the Cayman, not likely at this point, at least not from Porsche, but expect the major tuners to have things available shortly after release.

POST 7Original post

Thanks K & jhellow, How would and ordinary guy ever know this stuff without this website. We have an expression over here and it is, 'Lucky We Live Hawaii' I have a new one, Lucky I Found the Cayman Club'. Russ
