Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Replace ...yes all 6 were done' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace ...yes all 6 were done' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

...that is the question!
What's the general thoughts on the need for a borescope of a hartech rebuilt engine?
My own research is has led me to conclude\ponder the following.
1. Its highly unlikely unless the engine has had some other failure where bits of metal made their way inside. Overheating etc
2. Is it worth the expense in any case when the chances are there will be polishing marks on the nikasil liners that only an experienced hand can separate from real scoring.
3. If the engine has has some issues and the nikasil bores are scored I'm guessing it's the usual telltales....smoking left tail pipe on cold start, excessive oil usage.....though a seller is unlikely to admit this.
4. Don't worry about it, buy the car, drive the car and get it borescoped at its next major service? Or is this just plain recklessness?
Any other tell tales if the engine has been cooked, post rebuild?
Were all 6 replaced...Yes all 6 were done. I'd just read from an old post Baz had put on PH ages ago that it's possible to rescore but its always down to some other engine issue that would had done the same to any engine.
So yes whilst Hartech's solution fixes the issue it's feasibly possible something's happened in the subsequent mileage.
I suppose it's the old "you pay your money you take your chances" line isn't it.
I'm guessing if it only had 3 done you'd probably borescope it despite the slim chance of the non thrust side being scored.
I sat with Baz for an hour or two a few weeks ago talking engines and he said that when a Hartech (6 Nikasil bores) engine has had an unrelated failure and debris has been sent around the engine the bores have held up fine, a testament to how strong the Nikasil bores are.
