Well i could fit a carry bag across the rear boot of the 986 (using the recesses behind the rear lights).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Although my addiction to the Cayman S has many aspects, I must admit that one of the first things that poped into my mind when I saw the hatchback design and the picture showing Porsche's little golf pull cart, was that maybe here was a Porsche that might carry my clubs to the course. When I got to Frankfurt and saw it in the flesh, I became doubtful that there is any chance a normal sized golf bag would fit. Needless to say, by that time it did not matter. However, It sure would be nice if a bag does fit, and I am sure other avid golfers out there feel the same way. If not, I will be shopping for a downsized golf bag to use on days I insist on driving the Porsche. Anybody out there have any thoughts regarding this issue?

POST 2Original post

kmns, I will tell you on Novemeber 26th, cause I am bringing my bag with me to the dealer to find out for sure if it will fit. I am almost positive someone said that a golf bag would indeed fit, but can't confirm it. Someone has tried it by now I am sure. Frankly I was kind of hoping 2 bags would fit! Let's wait and see. Russ

POST 3Original post

I saw the space yesterday and a set of clubs will fit, but only a soft bag with the bottom end at the botton of the rear space and the club end up behind driver or passenger. Overall the car exceeded my expectations, then I started it and ...............WOW!!!!! who gives a crap if the clubs fit!!!/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/teeth_smile.gif

POST 4Original post

kevozzi, Ha ha! You got that right! Just give me the car!!! Russ

POST 5Original post

I second that. Give me the car and an open road.....gone.....

POST 6Original post

I third that! The ONLY thing I like about golf is if I get a fast golf cart and a great track to drive it on........for some reason every grounds keeper seems to frown on that......

POST 7Original post

My dealer implied that 2 sets of golf clubs would fit in the car provided that the rear wiper was NOT fitted. Evidently the mechanism for the motor sits on the inside of the hatch and prevents the storage of a golf bag on that side of the car. One reason not to take up golf !!!!

POST 8Original post

I thought someone uploaded a picture showing a golf bag in the back?

POST 9Original post

I did read somewhere that it will hold 2 golf bags!! Russ

POST 10Original post

When I was at McKenna looking at he car this issue came up. You can fit 2 golf bags, BUT... golf bags come in many different sizes. You're going to need the smallest bags available and they fit length-wise, leaning on that aluminium plate, with the club heads behind you head. Youmight get one regular bag in the center, but the club heads would be protruding over your shoulder. The car is small... I rode to the dealer in a Mercedes C Coupe and the Porsche had less passenger room.

POST 11Original post

Well i could fit a carry bag across the rear boot of the 986 (using the recesses behind the rear lights). On the 987 the recesses look smaller, narrower entrance, so becoming more difficult. Having seen the Cayman at the launch last night i'm even more sceptical about fiititng anything across the luggage area. Placing them lengthways is problematic too, the gap between the rear screen and the engine cover is pretty small with the lid closed, so you may only get them to fit with a thin carry bag - such as the Porsche one /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/wink_smile.gif

POST 12Original post

2 Bags will fit---I just tried it myself...I'll send a picture to K-man S and he can post. Mitch Schneringer Woodhouse Porsche of Omaha

POST 13Original post

Thanks Woodhouse, That should be interesting! However they must have been soft bags with not a lot of outside finish. Russ

POST 14Original post

They are Porsche golf bags...w/ a semi-soft side. The bags are available through the Drivers Selection catalog. We currently have 3 in stock if needed.

POST 15Original post

Woodhouse uploaded pictures showing what they look like in the Cayman, See: http://www.planet-9.com/pic_display.asp?id=661 for an example, there are a couple of other photos as well.

POST 16Original post

Thanks Woodhouse! I should have known they would be Porsche Golf bags designed to fit nicely! Looks great, with some room to spare.! Russ

POST 17Original post

This picture shows the hatch closed with the two golf bags and illustrates how the Cayman can carry longer objects utilizing coupe's unique interior/luggage spaces. http://www.planet-9.com/pic_display.asp?id=663
