Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Take an up-close look at the 911 engine being assembled as it travels down the factory line! Fascinating stuff and a great perspective - you may even catch a turbo engine in there as well! Enjoy!

POST 2Original post

Pretty amazing. Lots of machine assembly but still quite a bit by hand. Very sterile environment (in more ways than one).

POST 3Original post

Cool but I'm really surprised that very few of those assembly personnel wear safety eyewear...maybe only 10-15% on that video.

POST 5Original post

With all that special installation equipment, robotic torquing and new parts that do not need to be measured I would say it is much more difficult to be an engine RE-Builder than an assembly line tech. Also the engine rebuilder has opportunity to modify and enhance without regards to assembly line cost so what is better, original or rebuilt by someone who really knows what fails. Of course none of that matteres until the vehicle has some real miles on it. All that being said why can't they get a hold of the IMS failures!?!? And GT3s spontaneous combustion of the entire vehicle?

POST 6Original post

I'll be honest, I found that video very depressing to watch. No skill involved at all. It just a production line. One person, one job - put this in there and dont touch anything else.... The speed at which they drop the cam in worries me. But I am sure they have coloured dots to line up or something.

POST 7Original post

How come when I work on my engine there's always beads of nervous sweat dripping down my face. These guys look cool as cucumbers. It's as if they expect the thing to run when they are finished. They could have fired one up at the end...

POST 8Original post

LIKE to know how they install the second set of pistons, cannot be done from the top any longer i have look at many video that show the connecting rods standing up with no pistons attached then the second half of the block is bolted down must be a secret .

POST 9Original post

Really just an assembly video, wish they had shown some of the machining process. Very new video as the engines are direct injection. I was surprised that the workers clothes do not have any Porsche logo's on them. Paul
