I figured at 16 years old, I’d just replace every bulb and be done with it.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

New to me 2008 Boxster . Long story short. My right brake light does not work. It’s not the bulb. Confirmed. It’s not the carrier. Confirmed. Blinker works. The lights work. Only the brake light doesn’t work. :-( Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you! View attachment 292783

POST 2Original post

Could be an issue with the rear control module, located under the passenger seat. This often gets damaged from water, since there is no protection for it, especially on a convertible. Before just swapping it out, I'd check to see what it looks like, and if there's any corrosion. Then check with a meter to see if it's putting out voltage for the light. Then I'd put some voltage on the wire to see that the light works... if all that works, then it's an issue inside the module.... you can open it up and see if it's damaged inside...

POST 3Original post

Solved. I read where our cars are very sensitive to wrong wattage and such. I figured at 16 years old, I’d just replace every bulb and be done with it. Worked like a charm. Anyway, here is the list I went by: 1 - PY21W, signal light, amber, Osram 7507 LLF, offset pins 2 - P21W, reverse light, clear, Osram 7506 LLF, 180deg pins 3 - P21/4W, fog/tail light, clear, Osram 7225 LLF, offset pins, same as #5, fog light on driver's side only- socket has two contacts but brighter filament is inactive on pass side 4 - P21/5W, tail light only, clear, Osram 7528 LLF, 180 deg pins, 2 filament bulb but only one contact in the socket for the low watt filament 5 - P21/4W, tail/brake light, clear, Osram 7225 LLF, offset pins, same as #3 Got them off Amazon . Easy fix. Now warning light free! Happy days. Cheers!
