Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I'm very pleased as they are all running major suspension upgrades and track tires.

We just started running the porsche, I got to say for a heavy little piggy with the engine in the wrong place it is fun and fast.

While I want the wife and kids to run with me I will never let them beat me.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I had the chance today to go autocrossing with my eldest daughter today. We had a great day with beautiful weather. The parking lot was small and had been re-sealed about a month ago, so it was tight and a bit slippery.
My daughter took first in the ladies class and all I could get was 3rd in my calss. Unfortunately I was beaten by a highly modified Cayman S with a GT3 suspension and a GT4. Not bad for my car being older, completely stock and on street tires.
Here's a photo of the two of us.
Great kid!!!
I'm having soooooo much fun with this car.
That is awesome! Congrats on the finish to both your daughter and you. These cars can be a shared adventure in many ways. Planning on teaching my 12&13 yo boys how to drive it this summer. The local track said as soon as my boys can work a stick shift, they will start teaching them to race.
Thanks for the kind comments. She giggles the whole way around. She's 20.
I saw you had an issue at the track. I'm glad you are ok and it was no worse than it was.
Thanks! Me too. It was a valuable lesson in respecting my car and not trying to rush things. Turns out it's going to cost me $93 and about a day of working on it. That doesn't include sorting out the issues that got me into the mess but I'm counting my blessing none the less.
I have been autocrossing with my son for the last year and it has been a lot of fun. We have both been using my car
He came close to beating me at the last event, but I dropped 2 seconds in my last timed run and beat him by .8 seconds.
He was pissed off big time.
Everyone wants him to beat me and I know one day he will
Next event is in 3 weeks. We will see if I still keep my dignity
Don't weaken! Hold him off as long as you can because once he grabs the edge, you might not be able to get it back. Of course I'm sure that will be a proud day as well.
My daughter is only seven, but I can only hope she wants to autocross someday. Great times and some top notch parenting bud! Damn that freshly sealed asphalt!
Thanks Petersa9,
I'm a little afraid my 14 year old has no interest in autocrossing or track events. I expect complaints of it being too hot, the helmet messes up her hair and she likes to be seen in the car, not go fast in the car. She's going to be high maintenance.
My wife and I have been Auto-Xing since 2003 on and off. She is pregers now with a boy...I am already setting up a plan to get him into Auto-x.
Love seeing families out in the parking lot, always thought it as a family sport.
We're continuing this as a tradition. When our kids were little they always went with us to the A-X. My wife was Class Champ for 5 years in a row. It took a Boxster S and a Parade A-X Champ to beat her. Even though I do quite well in A-X, I've always been more of a track junkie. That's the next thing for my 20 year old.
Awesome. My wife beats me about half the time, I am more of the mechanic, sometimes I can put the course together to be fast and knock out a good time, most of the time my head is not in it.
We just started running the porsche, I got to say for a heavy little piggy with the engine in the wrong place it is fun and fast.
Oh and our Cars are almost twinsies
They sure are similar. Paul Waterloo also has a twin. Is yours lowered?
While I want the wife and kids to run with me I will never let them beat me.
It's a dominant male thing. We've autocrossed an early RX-7, a 924S, a 944s2 and now the 996. I was always competative with the 944 Turbos in my s2. Yesterday I beat them all with the 996. I'm very pleased as they are all running major suspension upgrades and track tires. I have none of these.
Its is basically stock but I just put on the US sport suspension as I was not happy with the US stock stuff. And knocked the camber all the way in at the front.
I never 'let' my wife beat me, she is just good
We have run Celicas, Miata's and MR2's with SCCA for years. The Porsche might just be our new car for this.
I honestly cannot wait to get my kid into Auto-x. I feel like all kids should auto-x at least 6 times or so before they get their license.
Here is the Mr2 that we built from the ground up. She beats me in that also sometimes. Pregnancy has slowed her down a bit though
First gear only this time. Unfortunately it is a small lot. With the relatively new sealer we needed to keep speed down for safety. We used to have access to pavement that was large enough to do a 1.3 mile autocross course. Ahh those were the days.
