Hey all,
Just yesterday, while kinda pushing the car I had the "Check coolant level" message pop up on the display. I immediately slowed down and pushed the computer stalk to remove the message (I still had the exclamation mark). Less than 2 minutes later, the message disappeared and the temp gauge didnt move past the mid point. I parked the car and waited till I got out today to check on the coolant, it was below the min mark
that made me REALLY worried, I never checked the coolant before so I dont know if it was under filled or something. Now I'm going to the dealer first thing in the morning, but should I be worried, could that be a leak or something?? The car has ~18,000 km on the clock and it'd stayed un-driven for like 2 months.

Coolant is one of those things that gets used up. It does not last forever and your wonderful car warned you that it need a bit more. Sounds like the world of Porsche is working perfectly to me.
Thank you so much for you fast reply SF. What made me worried is that I read in some other thread that the car should not use any coolant, isnt that right?

I don't think the car has "used" coolant per say. It's most likely some of the water from the mix has evaporated.
I think you'll be OK adding 8oz or so of distilled water. If it needs more then that, get a bottle of Porsche coolant and mix.
But shouldnt the coolant be a 100% porsche mix? or is it porsche + water?

The Porsche bottle isn't pre-mixed.
I was just at the dealer earlier this week asking about it. I happened to check my coolant this weekend and was a bit low. (not to the point the light went on, but low enough where I couldn't see the coolant in the reservoir) The tech told me I was OK to add 8-12oz of water before I had to spend the $ on the Porsche coolant. I added 12oz so far, and it still seems low, so I'm off to the dealer tomorrow for my $40 bottle of coolant.
Please, make sure your car is STONE COLD before you pop that blue cap off.
So I should put water in the resevoir (thanks for the advice btw) along with the coolant? in my other car I only put the coolant without any mixing with water!
