Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suspected cause

It looks like there was a single over-rev event at 100.0 operating hours - most likely a forced downshift to a lower gear at a little too high of engine speed.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

As was recommended by some kind folks on this board I requested an ECU print out of the engine. A couple of questions: 1. Operating hours counter reading at overspeed range - range 1,2 and 3 are all 100.0 h (why are they all exactly the same?) - range 4,5 and 6 are all 0.0h 2. Ignitions at speed -range 1 = 249 ( I assume this is x 1000) - range 2 = 7 - range 3 = 1 ( am I correct in believing this one to not be a concern?) -range 4,5 and 6 = 0 Any feedback would be much appreciated. Cheers, Rob

You might take a look at this (although it goes off topic along the way) http://www.planet-9.com/cayman-tech/14265-time-sensitive-question-overrev-issue.html

POST 3Original post

My :2cents: It looks like there was a single over-rev event at 100.0 operating hours - most likely a forced downshift to a lower gear at a little too high of engine speed. The single ignition in range 3 is probably not much to worry about.

KC-CS, Thanks for that. That would make sense. I just received the letter from Porsche stating that nothing on the report would void the warranty... I am now a Cayman owner!!!!!!!! YAY.
