Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

FWIW, I use 3k RPM as my min and try to keep the engine above that except on take off of course.

They are just an expensive used car but a little more special.

So went from the So Bay in LA on a big loop run through Elfin forrest ( Escondido) and back.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

After several 20 - 30 mile jaunts over the last 4 weeks. I was told to drive and finally got the chance after 30 days of ownership. So went from the So Bay in LA on a big loop run through Elfin forrest ( Escondido) and back. In other words 91 to 15 to Elfin to the 5 to 73 to 405 and home. Came to be a bit less than 300 miles. Mostly freeway but Elfin forrest was cool and worth the effort. There is something to be said for a summertime cruise in a Cabriolet. Getting the hang of all this , especially the shifting. Used 4 k as the shift point most often. Water temp usually a shade left of the 0 in 180. Oil pressure looked very good. Drove the last 20 miles top up tunes off just to listen. Sounded like a great driving machine. No drips on the garage floor 1 hour post return. My second mod was a new shift ****. Looking forward to my next jaunt. Still smiling
FWIW, I use 3k RPM as my min and try to keep the engine above that except on take off of course. I read something about it being better for them but the car really seems to like it and responds well. Glad you are enjoying your ride!
Thx JayG ! I will continue to explore the backroads. Hhhhmmm 5500 rpm, well did it once on purpose passing the Honey Truck (no joke) SoB made a "nifty right" and cut me off. Then 5500 on accident bc could not hear revs with top down. The learning curve continues. Perhaps Tehachapi next week.
At-a-boy. These cars are meant to be driven and enjoyed. Way too much ocd running out of control on the forums listening for unusual sounds to fuel their paranoia killing any joy of ownership.
Nice start. My SoCal 'secret' fun drive
Get up at 5am on a weekend and head for Santa Monica and get on the 1 north. Stay with it to the 101 into Santa Barbara. Have breakfast just north of the Univ campus. Take 154 north over the pass to Santa Ynez, pass that and before hitting the 101 turn right on Zaca Station rd. The wineries will just be starting to open, you can do some tasting and maybe pick up a bottle or two. It changes to Foxon canyon, follow that back to the 101 cross that, hope on hwy 1 north into Oceano. Turn left on Pier ave go to the end and rent an ATV for an hour the fool around out on Pismo state park on one of the buggies or quads.
You can stay overnight in Oceano, or if you want to keep driving have lunch and hit the road.
Head for 101 south and take 166 east. Turn right on 33 to Ojai, then take 150 to Santa Paula. Go east on 126 to hwy 23 south, to Olsen rd into Simi. Stop at the great man's library, then go east through Simi to Keuhner road, turn right. It changes to Santa Susana pass road. Stay on that. When you get to Topanga cyn, turn left and hop on the 118 back to home.
Hhhmmm tonopah could be on the hit parade soon enough ! Just keep heading east right !? The growl above 4k is a distinct pleasure to hear. SB has been a good pre Pcar destination in the past and I know the 154 pretty well. Pismo ATV's et al sounds great too. 166 is the James Dean hwy correct ? Then of course Hwy 33 I have heard a bunch about but this makes it much better. Have done the long way through Ojai and really enjoy the library also. Very good plan of attack from an obvious vet. Thanks all for sharing. Going to revisit the Topanga / Old Topanga drive to the Rock Store this weekend for bfast with the wife first thing , just to keep it rolling.
Careful up on Mulholland by the Rock store. Counted 3 CHP cars on Mulholland between Rock store and the snake 2 weeks ago on a Sunday. They are conducting a blitz to cut down the racing for the next month or so.
Try Stunt to Piuma instead. A much more technical run and no CHP last 3 times I've run it.
Like others have said, these things like to be driven. They are just an expensive used car but a little more special.
When we drive to new england for the week, we usually put on 2,000 miles in that week. Rain, dirt roads, whatever is thrown at us.
it makes for a memorable trip. You just have to pack light.
