Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I did have a problem with the MAF after fitting with major hesitation at 5k, but having cleaned it, all seems to be fine again....

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thinking of fitting a Cold Air Induction kit on my 2002 C4. Has anybody done so? Views, good bad or indifferent appreciated. Thanks.

POST 2Original post

Bought K&N 57i induction for mine and it looks great and heas really woken the car up in terms of throttle response etc, not to mention the sound! I can reccommend...

POST 4Original post

I fitted a design911 intake kit to mine and would echo the above, throttle response seems much "crisper" but the noise I did have a problem with the MAF after fitting with major hesitation at 5k, but having cleaned it, all seems to be fine again....

POST 5Original post

Yes, my MAF got spiked altogether and I had to replace it... Well worth it though!

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

How often do you have to re-oil?

POST 7Original post

As PJ says, these things are notorious for frying the MAF if you over-oil them - you have to be really careful not to do this, and the usual way of finding out if you have is when the MAF goes t*ts-up. I feel like a right little ray of sunshine this evening.

POST 8Original post

My indie told me that the K and N should cleaned and the oiled from the back and should be no issue. If you buy and fit one pre oiled then you may heading for maf failure. They give out a nice induction roar but not much more.
